None other than Davey Day He was the Dean of Boxing, Master Boxer of all time. No Champions wanted to fight him. Starting with Tony Canzoneri the NYSAC champion. The NBA would not recognize him as Champ until he Beats Davey. Tony would cut off his leg to fight Barney in trilogy, except he would have to beat Mr. Day to get that honor and a big pay day. Davey must have been the Dean of Boxing , as he never suffered a cut eye, which is unbelievable, right, but absolutely true. If you've got the time, check out all his amateur and pro fights (225+) in the newspapers, they mention who received cuts etc. Most opponents who fought Davey all received cut eyes. Henry Armstrong never suffered a cut under the management of Eddie Mead, until he met Davey who opened deep gash on his eye lid. The referee stopped the fight in 8th round, calling in the commission Dr. to take a look, and better not stop the fight! Mike Jacobs controlled all of boxing in NY and all referees, boxing commission and some NY sportswriters. He also, owns Armstong's contract at 25%.
