Bigfoot Martin... we'd have a new top 5 ATG HW.

Wlad x2, Holmes, Tubbs, Witherspoon, Bowe, Moorer, Bonecrusher, Foreman, Brewster, Hide, Tucker... if only he'd fought Lewis and Holyfield, or been a comebacking Tyson warm up...

clearing out the division? it was pretty clear when he came around...Lewis is famous for beating 2 of the greatest heavyweights of the 80s and 90s after they were well past their better days... yeah i guess beating up botha, zelikio maverek, michael grant, shannon briggs, henry akinwande, beating the guys that beat you up....mike tyson who took a pay day after 54 fights and who was beat by danny williams and kevin mcbride in his next fights..doesnt say much to me.....he was a very good heavyweight obviously...but dont make him out to be some guy who fought the best , because the best wereguys who were past their primes...hell tyson had won the heavweight title 16 years earlier...and when he fought hoyfield, he had won his first title 13 years prior....hardly fresh faces...but ring worn vetrans...especially with the wars he had been in....

what you're saying is true but it seems a little unfair to lewis. He did the best he could with the competition available. The 2 best heavys he fought were past their primes but other than that, he did what he had to do. He beat and usually destroyed everyone in front of him. I think the post-Lewis era has settled a bit and we're seeing him in a more realistic and objective light; probably at the bottom of top-10 all time heavy's but very good H2H who made the most of his era (though he lost to mercer :bbb)

Gotta love revisionist history. Akinwande was undefeated when he beat him, Golota had two losses to Bowe and was still considered to be a juggernaut at the time, Razor Ruddock was a favorite over Lennox Lewis and expected to run through him. Tony Tucker had one loss and was on a 15 fight win streak before Lewis got to him. Briggs had one loss at the time and was considered the LEAST valuable of the HW champions. That's not counting David Tua and Michael Grant who were expected to "blow out" Lewis. Lewis dispatched of both of them with ease. This doesn't even mention Tyson and Holyfield who he beat. Tyson was a farce but there's nothing wrong with beating Holyfield...who is a tough fight no matter what.

All in all? Lennox's resume has 11 world champions on it and a slew of great heavweights on it.

Akinwande? yeah he was undefeated...big deal...what the hell did he do before or after lewis that people talk about? NOTHING.
Tony Tucker also had one of the most padded records of all times..and should never even got a shot at lewis..seems to me you look at records on boxrec and are in awe.....look at the list of people he fought with his "15 win streak" instead of the pretty 15-0 number.
ruddock- still dangerous...but tyson beat him 2 times before that...yippie.
grant was a joke..only HBO built him up...grant has done nothing since that fight
    tua was dangerous...but one dimensional.....
golota - good win at time...props for a 1 round blow out
ie already said my piece on holy and tyson
