Jump into the bottomless black hole then if you dont want to have a try.

Thankyou for acknowledging the generosity of my criteria.

If you think that Michael Spinks say could have got down to 175 after fighting Larry Holmes you can pick him.

No light heavyweight beats Lennox Lewis, regardless of whether they have to be able to go down to 175 afterwards or not. Too big, too strong and too athletically talented. This is no Jess Willard we're talking about.

The one fighter who would have a solid chance of pulling this off is Sam Langford. Lewis Langford would be verry much an unpredictable fight in my opinion.

Therfore I must disalow Sam Langford as a choice here.

Having ruled out Langford I think that the fighter with the best chance is Archie Moore. I think this because he has a proven track record against heavyweights with similar height and reach to Lewis. He at least has the physical and technical tools to do it on paper.

The best chance would be Tunney, because he a top boxer with some reach ( 77" ) great feet, a top chin, and plenty of stamina.

Outboxing Lennox Lewis is a tall order, but Lennox did have some fits with Ocasio on the way up, and Ossie Oscasio was a blown up crusier.

Perhaps hard hitting light heavyweights such as Fitzsimmons, Langford, and Foster would have a chance.

Michael Spinks because he was very fast, had good pop, could move, could keep a really good pace, was very well conditioned, and had awkward headmovement. Style-wise, he could give Lennox troubles and possibly outbox him.

I grew up with Moore. Arch had trouble with the big boyz.So did Foster,Spinks. LL a GREAT to me, I dont think Moorer or Ezz would stand up10 with LL in a shootout!!!:happy

How many fighters of 6'5 240lbs did Moore beat? How many of those were of world class level?

Its doubtful any LHWT could beat Lennox, Tunney or Charles are your best bet tho.

Strategy - Lateral movement, hit & run, its the only way, the ONLY way.

The truth is that he didnt as such, but he did show that he could cope with 6' 5'', 84" reach, similar style, on a lighter frame of say 220 lbs.

That gives you something to work with.

Best shots - Charles, LHW versions of Ali/Holyfield, RJJ, Patterson, Dempsey. Everyone else is destroyed. None would be favourates

I do not think any would be anywhere close of a live underdog to do it...If I had to bet on a long shot it would be Archie Moore or a 175lb version of Ezzard Charles they would have a lot going against them because of Lewis class and size but if they were able to survive early on and get past rd 8, there chances and workrate would increase...still Lewis was the 1st EXCellent Big Man.....styles that may trouble him..Moore,Charles and Qwawi....Qwawi yes, the swat 5"7 fireplug could be troublesome and sometimes a small man who fights out of a crouch is hard for a big man
