Many big heavyweights went out early against Joe Louis but 168lbs Billy Conn went into the 13th rd.

    Ditto Dempsey and Tommy Gibbons.
I'll stay with my pick of Ted Lowry going 4 rds with Tyson, he went the distance with Marciano twice.

Prime Tyson was such a fast starter and was so quick, I don't think any of them would. But, Sam Langford comes to mind upon reading the thread- long reach, very good power. Someone mentioned Dwight Qawi, and I love that choice because Mike would be punching down for the 1st time against a very good, tough defensive, offensive fighter. But, it's difficult to imagine any 175 pounder getting out of the 4th round against prime Tyson.

I'd give Toney a pretty good chance. He had a superb defense and a tremendous chin.

I also think he stylistically fits better. Tyson's bread and butter were the talls guys that pulled away straight when he came charging in and thereby gave him the room and leverage he needed to land his best bombs. Toney would probably fight him more like Holy did - standing his ground and making himself a small target.

Trying to stick and move against Tyson if you don't have the power to discourage him is suicide. He was just too fast and good at cutting off he ring. Had been trained against just such tactics for most of his career.

LHW Toney didn't have the size and power to ultimately be successful against Tyson, but I can see him lasting four rounds. Perhaps even 12.

The more I think about it, it's Archie Moore. He's cute enough defensively, strong enough in the clinches and has the power and timing to deter Tyson for a while.

Foxy is an expat and my age ,or thereabouts. How would I appear if I said I'll send one of my 4 lads ,the smallest of whom is over 16stone and all of whom can really have a row ,[they did the doors,] up to see you?
Like the knob you're coming across as?

Against that is his chin wasn't too solid. But I can see the rationale.

But he /they can fight ,very well ,one was a cage fighter and like the others worked the clubs, unless you've grown about a foot and put on 2 or 3 stone since your vid it wouldn't be a match which is exactly my point.
Tying to be even handed here.
Foxy is shall we say, imaginatively descriptive in his remarks , he talks that way to everyone including me.
ps You were a bit over the top with your Tyson praise imo,and Foxy hates him!
