15 rounds. I think this one is a very interesting match up. Godfrey was a bit bigger, and perhaps a bit quicker. Mcvey might have hit a triffle harder, took a better punch. Who wins? I'll take McVey. He was the harder man in more ways than one. IMO, Godfrey was a big man with suspect heart.
Intruiging matchup ,I don't know that Godfrey was suspect in the cojones department ,he was a long time sparring partner for Dempsey who was notoriously brutal on spar mates.Johnson called Mcvey his toughest and most dangerous foe,of course Jack was known to tell porkies ,and may not have wanted to give credit to Langford whom he hated ,and who detested him in return .I'll have to think about this one.Larry Gains said in his autobioghraphy Godfrey was massively muscled and a real intmidating man .There again his general physical aura may have led him to being somewhat overated,as sometimes happens with Liston imo.
