australia, jeff fenech and kostya tzyu, although one is an immigrant and the other a son of immigrants, they represent our multicultural complexion , ut especiallly our intense brave fighting spitit, sportsmanship and respect outside the ring. not flashy, hard working honest and honourable champions.

Mundine is probalby our biggest name here but most aussies probably wouldnt choose him as representative of the as he s more american in his demeanour, which is ironic as hes the most "australian" of them all as he s aboriginal , etc.

    good questioon and post.

in terms of america. i think that their champions in diferent eras each represented america at different times. ali in the 60s, tyson in the 80s, leonard in the 70s, roy and oscar in the 90s and now floyd.

all brash and flashy as some have said. but ali stood for civil rights at that time. and so much more. success for all .
leonard was the poster boy for black success and full integration, and the spreading of american culture throughout the world. the black man who had the crossover smile. tyson was representative of reganomics and 80s poverty and ghetto culture. roy was hip hop of the 90s. young successful, brash but a bit shallow. floyd is the now, hip hop also, but dosent stand for much these days other than money and success, completely self serving , superficiial and ignorant of others. but defensive and very sensitive and also very very gifted and resourceful.

theyre all america at differnt times i think. in which case- americas a **** right now. but most of all they all represent the old idiom of the american dream, all coming from humble roots to rule the world. thats what america has sold to the world, that possilbility and countries admired, resented , loved, envvied, all of those american qualities and principles, as they do the fighters that represent them and the country.

verty complex country with a complex and rich history, as opposed to australia which we could be defined by an earnest and humble hard working brawler, and be proud of that. .

    SCOTLAND

    Ken Buchanan

Has that classical British style, upright has a good jab, his defence is brilliant as well. A really talented craftsman/technician, but deep down he can grind it out, and gut it out.
