It's a real shame Povetkin can't get his **** together -- he would at the very least make an interesting opponent.
It is clearly going to be Arreola, especially if the fight is in the States. Why would Wlad fight the winner of Del girl Chisora and gypsies tramps and thieves Fury in the U.S.?
I'd like to see him fight Chisora, assuming Chisora defeats Fury. I think Wlad owes him the fight and I'd like to see him make good on it. Povetkin would be a better fight, but I'd think he needs to fight a top 10 guy before Wlad to see what he has left. Maybe Helenius? Arreola would be a great fight, but again, I'd like to see Chris fight a top 10 guy before Wlad. Maybe the winner of Helenius/Povetkin?
Even Eddie -feather fisted- Chambers toyed with Dimitrenko. Povetkin, Helenious or Arreola sound like the best options. Arreola for me, cause he would be the only one NOT afraid to throw his best punches vs Wlad and he's the only one who could make a Wlad fight somewhat entertaining.
yeah wlad owes his life to a 14-0 big mouth who has 9 knock outs and wins against NO ONE that has a ranking in the top 15 . **** chisora, let him earn something your point about povetkin should go double for chisora...while true...its been 3 years since pov beat a top 10 guy, arreola looked flat the other night..but best pick of the 3... people say helinus need more fights, but has 1 more than chisora while fighting better opponents....i would take Helinus over arreola for an opponent for wlad..let someone who hasnt failed give it a go while his confidence is great, unlike arreola who has been schooled 2 times while beating ho hums in return fights with no reason to think hes ready for the elite guys again
These are some of the guys I think Wlad won't face in his next fight. If Adamek were to upset Vitali I'd imagine that would be his next fight but I don't think Adamek wins so thats probably out. Povetkin, if he beats Chagaev, would probably be the top challenger to Wlad but I don't think they rush into that one. Atlas knows Wlad is going on 36 while Povetkin has taken a step back. Let Povetkin defend his title a time or two against decent oppositin while Wlad gets older. Wlad-Povetkin right now I take Wlad all day but Wlad-Povetkin(an active Povetkin) in 18-24 months is very interesting. Wlad-Chagaev 2 probably never happens even if Chagaev wins. Haye, if he doesn't retire, will face one of the brothers again. I don't think Wlad rematches him immediately. Haye needs atleast one and preferably two more wins over good competition. Haye should be looking at the winner of Fury-Chisora and then a top ten guy before facing Wlad again. Of course, if Haye were to fight and beat Vitali, then a Wlad rematch is gauranteed. Chambers/Thompson winner will be a mandatory to Wlad and a solid top 10 or in Chambers case top 5 guy. Wlad already beat them both so I don't see him facing the winner next but he'll face him in the next year or so. Valuev is either retired or will have been off so long that I don't see this being Wlad's next fight. I doubt Wlad ever faces Valuev but if he does I don't think its this year. Helenius and Boystov aren't ready and probably won't be for a year or so. I think Wlad will face someone from this list of fighters next: Arreola has been on a winning streak and has his weight in check, he's the only real challenge that Wlad can sell here in America. Arreola will be a big underdog but he'll come to fight and his stlye makes this, possibly, an entertaining fight. This current Arreola is in better shape and has much more big fight experience than the one Vitali fought. It could be a fun fight. Chisora-Fury winner is a fight Wlad has mentioned. Now, Wlad has fought top 10 and 5 contenders fight in fight out for years now and has earned the right to face a 15 fight guy like the winner of this if he wants. But, Wlad probably has 5-7 fights left in him and I don't want to see one of those used up on one of these guys. Maybe in a couple years but not now. Dimitrenko would probably be an easy sell, has a nice record, and has size. Wlad absolutely brutalizes him but I can see this fight happening. Mormeck was talked about before and I think there was good money in it. Wlad is free to fight whomever he wants and it might be a mismatch but Wlad-Mormeck in France probably does big business.
Valuev Fury/Chisora winner Helenius Povetkin/Chagave winner (hopefully Povetkin) Any of these guys will do just fine.
I agree, the likely opponents will be Arreola (likely), Chisora (also likely). The fight after that one, I think will be Chambers/Thompson winner. Following that one I'm guessing Adamek, Dimitrenko or Povetkin for the WBC belt, assuming Vitali retires. After that, I'd guess Helenius/Solis/Contender X Then, retire.
I would have picked Povetkin but he wont fight Wlad so its a wasted vote I put Dimitrenko cause of his recent win and his size Id wanna vote Arreola but he isnt ready and is still a work in progress rather him fight Wlad when he is more developed
perfect post covered all points i prefer dimitrenko in the mean time big guy with skill coming off a nice KO Mormeck tho an ex Cruiserweight champ would not do much for him and may bring criticism i like arreola as an opponent but he is still a work in progress handling his weight and getting better he wasnt happy after the friday fight let him fight a perfect performance plus since his comeback and weightloss he hasnt really beaten anybody to get excited about experienced tough guys who you can learn a lot from but let him beat a ranked contender
I agree that Wlad should play nice and leave them green fighter's be, at least until they start barking. I'd like to see him fight a big man with a chin and some power. Arreola fits the bill, as does Valuev. I voted other.......Valuev. Yeah, yeah, he hasn't fought in 2 years....yadayadayada. Vitali went 4 without a tuneup and dominated Peter who was coming of a lopsided win. Valuev would sell, and the fight could be in the Ukraine. I want Wlads next 5 to be Valuev Potvetkin Chisora Helenius Haye2
