Pick your most Overated & Underated fighter right now

Overrated: Pavlik, Hopkins

Underrated: Hatton, Witter, Calzaghe, Haye

 

Two things:
Pacman fought some amazing fighters, just because he beat them and they were older whenever he has rematches with them doesn't take away that they were great fighters whenever he fought them. You can't honestly say that Morales, Barrera and Juan Manuel Marquez were all shot bums. That is like saying that a fighter is really good but then after they get beat by a fighter you don't like you say that they actyally sucked because you don't want to say the other fighter is good.

And about Calzaghe:
He is an amazing fighter, if I was a trainer I wouldn't want to put my fighter up against him but to say that he doesn't need a resume is a flawed statement. That is like saying Ricky Hatton is amazing he doesn't have to fight anyone good for me to know that he is a great fighter. That is what everyone said about Hatton too but whenever he foguht the best he lost. Calzaghe right now is a big fish in a small pond and until he is in the sea we wont really know how amazing he is.

 

Underrated: Sergej Dzindziruk
Overrated: Antonio Tarver

This is brilliant. You write off Lacy and Kessler as bums and then tell me that Pavlik's underrated?

The Pre-Calzaghe version of Lacy would've smashed the glass jawed Miranda to pieces and theres no way in hell that Kessler would've been near enough KO'd by the lazy and fairly light punching Taylor.

The very fighters you criticise Calzaghe for are better than anything Pavlik's ever faced. Even if you ignore Eubank and Reid (both of whom had granite chins, were good boxers and would've given Pavlik all he could handle,) Calzaghe's resume and performances are far greater than Pavlik's.

 

Overrated: Jean Pascal. I welcome him to change my mind by beating Miranda, which I don't see him doing unless his defense has improved by leaps and bounds.

Underrated: James Kirkland.

Over-rated: Juan Diaz (He beat a quitter & a decent not even good title holder, now he is absolutely going to dominate Katsidis :-( ).

Under-rated: Pavlik (A lot of people give him no credit for beating Taylor because he got dropped. Well he got up and KO'd Taylor, and he will do it again in feb.) He also has underrated boxing ability.

 

Overated: Calzaghe

Underated: Juan Diaz

 

Overrated: Mayorga
Underrated: Mayorga

 

Over rated: Miguel Cotto

Under rated: Cory Spinks

That is just the truth as I see it.
