    cuts will be a problem.

also i think hatton is gonna struggle to make weight this time without kerry kayes who was a big part of the team. Hattons training had allot to do with dropping weight, his schedule completly changing could alter this.

and he will fade in the later rounds. Mallignaggi will not slow down, hatton will.

You don't see the jab as a weapon for Hatton? :scaredas:

Has it ever been? I'm sure he skipped gym the week they taught him that as a kid. He did it use it much better at one point, but since the competition got better he seems to get even more desperate and marches forward relying only on lateral movement and footwork.

Hatton has been living with his girlfriend though. He said she got sick of seeing him so fat and did some homecooking instead. The pints and kebabs are gone, apparently.

I doubt they would have gone, but probably less. He looks leaner six weeks out from a fight for as long as I can remember.....

There was rumours in the paper that she was ready to ditch him unless he cleaned up his act - getting pissed and eating shite included. Ricky probably realised that she was way out of his league, that he was a lucky lad and he ought to do as he is told.

Malignaggi isn't the kind of fighter to force the pace of a fight - if Hatton is in good nick and can get some body shots to slow him down, he will stop him late. If he can't, he will win wide UD via workrate.

There is simply no way Paulie has the style to beat Hatton - I will bet all my VCash & Facebook coins on it :rofl

Well we were discussing the jab, wern't we?:huh Sure his jab was more effective against poorer opposition, as he'd moved up its less important so why use it? As I said, too many jabs means he's fighting the fight to suit Paulie.

thats clearly not the case. Hatton lookes as out of shape as always in the press confrences.

Why on earth would it get less important as he moved up? That's clearly not the case because he eats a lot of clean counters since his opponents are better themselves. It should be more important.

It's nothing to do with dancing around on the outside fighting Malignaggi's fight. Hatton proclaims himself as the Mexican Mancunian, a great pressure fighter, and pressure fighters always use a jab for very simple reasons. It occupies the opponent and allows you to get inside more effectively to do your best work.

I meant its less effective, I didn't use "effective" as I'd already used it once in the same sentence and it read poorly. All Hattons jab has been for at top level is to get in close, two jabs to the head/ chest, close the range and work the hooks. He just needs to maintain that and use it a bit more often rather than develop a Liston/ Holmes type weapon over the next few weeks.

I actually had about 10,000. But I pissed it down the drain when Cory Spinks got robbed against Phillips.

Now I don't have the motivation to build it back up again.

I think I got upto about 400, put it all on Marquez to beat Pacquiao - got ripped off.

ESB then gave me 50 for free.

    Bless them.

I agree. But he hasn't even been doing that well enough recently. What happened to it against Mayweather? He had it in is head pre-fight he was going to continue the blueprint set out by Castillo, well NEWS FLASH Ricky: Castillo used a jab.

This bullrushing tactic is a recipe for distaster at his age with that style. I'm sure Mayweather Sr knows it.
