That's the sad truth of the matter.

I am at a loss to how you could think such a thing. After all, I have stated my case quite solidly.

Today JT has discovered Patterson, a recent lightheavyweight #1 contender, won the heavyweight title from the lightheavyweight champion. And Mcvey learned that Charles couldn’t have been better in the three years previous to 1946 when he didn’t win an official fight.

I must say, having made absolutely no contribution yourself, these unfounded teatime snipes from the sidelines are coming a bit of a habit for you aren’t they?

No the sad truth is you missed the reply.

I didn’t lie. Perhaps I should have checked the detail and worded it another way. Charles really Didn’t win an official fight for three years. This is the truth!

And this is because he was absent for practically three years. If the word “practically” makes the sentence completely honest but less sensational then please comfort yourself in the fact that Charles didn’t just “practically” win for three years, he officially didn’t win for three whole years.

All of this ball hang is an enormous diversion from accepting Charles was not a better fighter between the years 1943 and 1946 than he was after 1946.

They had an exhibition, though it's highly likely that Layne was talking out of his ass

If it was indeed 4 teeth, he is everything they say he was.
If it was one tooth, he was a bum.

That makes it even more of an accomplishment. He had to go through two fights with Joe Louis and three fights with Ezzard Charles while already being 50+ fights into his career to get a title. Guys don't have to go through all of that trouble anymore to pickup a title nowadays.
