Marciano could have indeed lost quite easily against "Liston, Foreman etc." as you put it. If for no other reason than the fact the HW division is renowned for its upsets, surprises, unpredictability etc. Also, you're obviously referring to me with the "hero worship" jabs, so by all means address me.

Also, mcvey who seems to be passive-aggressively insinuating that I have a "hero worship" for Marciano has been doing nothing but marginalize him in almost every post he's made. So honestly I think the whole "hero worship" brand is just a cheap ploy for him to lay on anybody commenting in defense of RM. Boxing and this forum is riddled with so much personal bias, it's almost impossible to determine who would win or who is "the best" in any of these hypothetical matches.

 

Unsubstantiated BS is stating he had good balance,accuracy, and defence, he didn't.
Unsubstantiated BS is stating he only fouled on certain specific occasions,when in fact he was a dirty ****er between the ropes, some of which maybe attributed to his lack of accuracy.
Unsubstantiated BS is stating his chin was concrete when he faced very, very few punchers, and no class modern sized heavies.
Marciano was a great fighter ,a great champ ,and a fine man, fortunate to arrive when there was a dearth of real tough opposition and his 3 previous predecessors were still around because of it, aging and past prime.

. Those that portray him as a cross between Superman and Paul Bunyan do him no service at all here.
