Here are just a few posts where you have said you think Williams was a better puncher than Marciano.

But maybe you changed your mind?

Old enough to spot a slavish hero worshipper when I read one!
I have many times stated Marciano was 1. A great fighter 2.A great champ 3.A fine man, many , times and as recently as on this very thread! I've no Jihad against any fighter how ridiculous!
Sorry if you are butt hurt by the facts ie 1. Poor balance 2. Poor accuracy.3.Persistent fouling4.Unproven chin against class modern heavies. But the truth is the truth, if you can't handle it maybe this isn't the place for you?

It's not hero worship; just reverence and admiration for a genuinely great fighter and a great man. Honestly it sounds like you're just bitter that nobody has ever looked at you in such a mould. Marciano is dead and he still commands more respect than you.

Most of those are facts; facts I actually happen to agree with, barring the chin comment which again is subject to hypothesis land.

Language sir! This a family friendly forum I'll have you know!

But what knockout win is this Even based on? Where is the film? Where is the basis for this? Where is the source of this evidence?

At least with Rocky there is film of world class men being counted out. Williams? Zilch.

Why would I be bitter that a man who achieved what in my day was referred to as,
" The Greatest Prize In Sports",commands more respect than myself who has achieved nothing of any significance to the public at large?
Where would be the logical justification for myself expecting I deserved such acclaim ? Why should I be bitter that a man who deserved it was awarded it?
You calling Marciano ."a great fighter and a great man," is only echoing statements I have made on this forum time and time again.
You are a very confused individual.
ps I have edited a piece my previous post, which was prompted by you digging me out by name in an unprovoked attack.

I happen to resent that sir. It's not my fault I'm related to Tyson Fury.

But seriously speaking I apologize if I've offended you. I didn't mean any of my comments to come across like personal attacks. But let me say that it's kind of ridiculous for anyone to slam somebody for having an idol or "hero" especially when said idol can drive or motivate you to do something good or achieve a goal in life; big or small. One could argue Ali, Louis, Marciano etc. have just as much credibility if not more so than any of the founding deities of the big three Abrahamic cancers. Not one of those men have motivated anybody to kill.

Apologies on a postcard to any religious fanatics.

A great photo .. misleading on size based on angle and position of men but not attitudes. I have never read any exact details of the bad blood between the two and would like to know a bit more about these "confrontations" of sorts if anyone actually does .. In the ring I'd favor Liston based on reach, styles, etc but in the street anything could happen w those two axe murderers ..

Nice swerve. I take it you are not basing Williams power on anything tangible then? Let’s leave it at that then.

I'm basing his power on the contemporary sportswriters who saw him ko men, and on the first hand evidence of fighters such as Liston,Terrell,Jack O Halloran who fought Mac Foster,Ron Lyle,Ken Norton,George Foreman,Al Jones,Manuel Ramos ,said an old Williams hit him harder than anyone.
Below, taken from The Greatest Heavyweight Punchers OF All Time.

    12. Cleveland Williams: The fighter they called “The Big Cat” stretched no fewer than fifty-eight men. Sonny Liston, who knew a thing or two about power, dubbed him the hardest puncher he’d ever faced.
In a 2003 Ring Magazine of top hundred punchers of all time, Williams came 16th out of all the heavyweights.

    You really are a nonsense!

The only nonsense is this true absence of any basis for persevering with Williams as an ATG puncher without ATG knockout wins. None.

Who states you need ko's over all time greats before you can be considered a big puncher?
Was Mac Foster a big puncher?
    Was Ron Lyle?
Where are their kos over All Time Greats?
    Williams 60 kos in80 wins ko% near 64%
    Foster 30kos in 30 wins ko % near 84%
    Lyle31 kos in 43 wins ko % near 61%

Below, post gunshot Williams described by Eddie Dunphy as,"having the most kos of anybody in boxing"

50 pages! I'd like to thank everyone involved for making this happen, I couldn't have done it without you. I'd like to thank my momma for birthing me then abusing me every day until I had enough rage to become a fan of boxing. MOST IMPORTANTLY I'd like to thank GOD for making this special night happen and for blessing me with this moment. Next I'd like to call out Hgrovic and Kownacki, LETS GET IT BABY, they ain't gonna duck me for long. Praise be to God, amen.
