Sonny liston was 1.84 not even a full 6'1 it is more 6'0 1/2. I am 1.86 a little over 6'1

 

Joe Frazier was better than Rocky Marciano in every single department. SPECIALLY CHIN( WAITING FOR SOMEONE DEBATING THIS), SPEED,FOOTWORK,PRESSURE, WEIGHT AND SIZE, DEFENCE AND BODY WORK,FRAZIER WAS MUCH HARDER TO OUTBOX. THE ONLY EDGE THAT ROCKY HAD OVER FRAZIER WAS THE HITTING POWER IN THE RIGHT HAND. However the left hook of Joe was as hard as the suzieQ of Rocky

 

Some people saying here "not the big size difference that i thought" guys... One of them is fat old and overweight and the other one is in shape in his prime.. And still Liston looks bigger... Both men with the same %of fat and Liston always would look bigger because he was bigger ,also the angle of the photos is very important because sometimes it is not like the real proportions

Frazier was bigger, height and weight, but I doubt he hit as hard as Marciano. Rocky was better conditioned than Joe, or anyone else for that matter. Frazier said when he watched Ali rope-a-dope Foreman he said, “He couldn’t get away with that with Marciano.” (Book “Smoking Joe”)

George Foreman rated Marciano higher, pointing out that Frazier had a great left hook but Marciano could hit equally hard with either hand.

Archie Moore was asked to compare Frazier with Marciano, just prior to Joe’s fight with Jimmy Ellis. Moore said, “Frazier is a big, strong kid, but he’s no Rocky Marciano. Marciano was the strongest man, bar none, that I ever got in the ring with. And I fought some strong men.”

 

I am 6-11. Neither of these guys look to be over 5-10.

 

I'm 5' 8 1/2" They are obviously shorter than me.

 

You are not much taller than the guy sitting down in that photo on your avatar. You look more like 4’6” to me shorty.

 

I am a big fan of Joe Frazier but none of this stands up very well. Specially chin? And you are waiting to debate this??

Frazier in his prime was excellent. He beat Ali, and I think he beat a great Ali. Trouble was, he was not as good after this. It has been documented that he was hospitalised, that his career was in the balance just winning that fight. He took time out before an exhibition to see if he could even hold a shot again. That’s how serious it was.

But before this Frazier was truly a great fighter. Not many champions would have beat him. But one who I think would have beaten Fazier was Rocky Marciano. And I don’t think I am alone in suggesting this.

 

Some of the posts in this particular thread have a Flat Earth Society feel about them. Very amusing if unintentionally so.

Archie moore obviously is going to support the fighter from his own era it is not a rare thing. Joe Frazier took everything from the hard hitting lhw bob foster and then destroyed him in brutal fashion in 2 rounds. An ancient archie moore not only lasted pretty Long with marciano but did hurt him and knocked him down too. Left hook from Frazier and right hand from Rocky = pretty even in power

 

Actually the reverse would be the funny thing, the old myth of Rocky Marciano having a legendary chin is only a history for kids. Frazier only was really hurt against one of the hardest punchers in the hw history. Frazier and marciano both guys facing a lhw puncher. Bob Foster and ancient Archie moore, difference.. Frazier takes everything from Foster and destroys him in 2 rounds. Marciano is hurt and down by archie . Joe Frazier faced harder,bigger and better oposition than Rocky did it is the difference

Are you compared smaller china chined Foster to one of the greatest LHW Archie who is better in everything which is crazy!Like comparing Ezz and Billy Conn!

 

It is one the funniest things that i could read ever. If there are somebody here with a chin with questionable reputation it is archie moore. Foster got stopped ONLY against hws(doug jones was a hw yes). You can't say the same for archie.no of them had granite chin but it is funny that you attack with the chin argument when the guy that you are defending did not have a chuvalo chin exactly.
And Bob Foster himself is too one of the best lhws ever. And Bob foster SMALLER than Archie Moore? It is pretty evident that You have no clue what you are talking about. How old are you?
