Yea I feel alot of people are forgetting, that at this point Mayorga is the naturally bigger man. And that will only benefit Mayorga, if he's in shape.

 

Like I said, this is a good fight for Cotto because he'll be in with a guy with a good chin, bravery, wild aggression, and a size advantage. He will need to box as the smarter fighter but push through and fight without quitting when things are in a rough spot. This is good for Margarito and a good confidence booster. Sure Mayorga's not a P4P fighter, but at this point it's what Cotto needs. I'm excited to see how Steward prepares Miguel for this one.

"It's a fight that could be a wild, crazy fight possibly," Steward said. "Mayorga is going to challenge anybody. So I think Miguel's short, accurate punches will be a factor. Mayorga needs swinging room. You can't never relax with a guy like Mayorga because his punches are wide and looping from all angles. You gotta be out of the zone or go all the way inside on him. You can't be in the middle because he can catch you with any one of his shots. Miguel might have to do some boxing to go with his punching. Mayorga is very heavy handed but not technically sound."


So maybe the gameplan is to stick and move in spots, then get inside to crowd and bomb him? Sounds good to me!
