Steward says Cotto loses weight rapidly when he trains and that he could probably make 150 fine if he had to. I suppose he gains it easily too. I don't think he balloons in an unhealthy way, just that small changes in diet and training physically show more dramatically for him. His head shape and body frame look like they would normally carry more weight than the lean fighter we see on fight night.

Man!, I thought that was one of the crew messing about for a split second, not one of the fighters, I had to do a double take, as Mayorga looks nothing like an athlete.

    mayorga may be washed up.

but hes still got that misplaced confidence, hes still wild as hell and physically a prescense vs cotto.

if cotto doesnt box well, and show some power to stop mayorga getting confident than he could find himself getting beat up by the crazy cigar smokin maniac!.

Mayorga is carrying some flab but he will burn that off easily in a good training camp. 154 is his best weight for his frame.

i think mayorga respects cotto because of the beatdowns they both have been in.but its gone be tough fight for cotto win or lose.cotto might get the perfect body shot in and stop mayorga early but he might not stop him at all.good fight to see though, i dont know how cotto or mayorga will come to ring.cotto will be in shape but he might have flash backs in his fights, mayorga might come into some decent shape but hmm i dont know.

With Mayorga anything can happen. I'll be rooting for one of my favorite fighters the early 2000's, but I give Cotto the slight edge based on ring age and style, but I can totally see Mayorga hurting Cotto early on and abusing him there after making Cotto bow down. But that is not the likely scenario.

The way I see this fight going is Cotto will outbox Mayorga for the first part of the fight, then Mayorga will lose snap to his punches in the middle rounds, Cotto will try to take him out, if he fails then both men will be winded, Mayorga will have some good moments in the later rounds, but the younger fresher Cotto will have enough legs and energy to outland Mayorga to a clear but very close UD.

i did this because alot of you anglosaxons REALLY need to know how mayorga really talks, without the garbage idiot translators that screw and censor sht to their liking. if you speak spanish... this guys talking BIG fckin talk. this is a HUGE latin fight

    - ricardo they asked miguel cotto in nicaragua who ricardo mayorga was. what do you think about what he said?

"miguel cotto has been a well known name boxer, respected by the fans cuz hes a brave boricua... really, i can admire him as a human and as a person. but as a boxer, logically not because hed be an opponent of mine because we're in this same sport in the same division. but, i found out that he said that i didnt mean anything to him. miguel cotto to me is, how could i say, a piece of trash. at least the bin that i put my garbage in. hes nobody. he hasnt fought with the huge monsters ive fought with. instead, hes gonna be doing my errands. where ive passed, where ive fought with people, where ive been... he cant even put his ass there. whenever he wants, ill fight him and ill take that title he has. because did you see the champion that they threw at him? huh? some unknown guy, some guy that kept falling, some guy that was like, like a wounded soldier, with fcked up feet that was falling alone? tell him that whenever he wants, for fun, for fun ill go to puerto rico, in sparring, to not charge don king anything. cuz don king wont be paying me alot to fight with miguel cotto. hes a nobody. whenever he wants, ill give it to him for real. a beating. im gonna knock him out in 2 rounds, cuz hes a nobody and he means nothing to me. and thats whenever he wants. tell him to look for me. look for me. tell his manager to contact don king, and for fun, for free, let don king give him the purse, because im coming to take that title. whenever he wants. so he shows me respect. the real golden goose, the warrior, and not because he beat me, was tito trinidad. that guy actually won the respect of everyone. my respect to him as well. but not for cotto. nobody respects cotto but his children. nobody else"

This fight is probably more significant than Pac-Mosley.

Here you have two punchers, both removed from their best, one of them wanting to prove he is still a force to be reckoned with and entertaining, the other, fighting for a pay check and needing a good showing to continue collecting.

Cotto having the obvious edge, while Mayorga as always, a game fighter.

A fight where anything can happen, where destinys can take a turn for the better or for the worse.

    A fighters fight.
