I think a peak Pinklon Thomas was good enough, to at least go 15 Rounds with Joe Louis. IYO,could he?
Pinklon had an ATG chin, it took prime Tyson about 14-15 punches to drop him. Then there's Joe Louis who had a history of stopping durable fighters which makes this a very interesting match. I see Louis winning a decision which at times is competitive due to Pinklon's jab but Louis overtakes him due to Pinklon's laziness and while he had an ATG chin he didn't have an ATG heart.
I think he and Tony Tucker are the same, both do enough to make it to the end upright. Lasting 15 with Louis is an excellent accomplishment in its self.
It’s possible. Thomas was durable before the drugs broke him down. He battled Gerrie Coetzee to a hard fought draw. Outboxed Tim Witherspoon when he was on a roll. Beat an aging but still dangerous Mike Weaver. I’d say he was at least as durable as Arturo Godoy
Were you called a cover band because when you started singing, everyone in the audience had to take cover?
We weren't that bad. Could have been better. Did worse when we transitioned into Pat Benatar covers. I had an issue where I fell off the stage a few nights in a row during the Love Is A Battlefield bass solo that I created. Had my hair kind of relaxed and it was flopping in my eyes while I was trying to play and do some of the choreographed moves from the music video and I couldn't see the edge of the stage, flopped off. Injuries from that wound up causing my retirement from the band. They changed their name later. We were The Pink Lonettes, at first. We wanted 'The Pinklonettes,' but someone else was also doing a Pinklon cover band and using that name. It caused some legal issues for us at first. Until some people were talked to and some offers were made, of which I will not speak. Then we were The Dreamlanders during the second phase. After I retired, they had a couple hits as NIrvana with some tall guy doing my part. Our drummer is still doing really well for himself. Some say he's too down-to-earth for his own good, I don't know.
No one taking into consideration Pinklon is a more modern era fighter. Bigger stronger faster then anyone Louis ever fought. But Louis had great offensive skills could maybe pull it out but Im thinking that weigh advantage would be a stubborn advantage might put Pinklon over the top.
