The best version of Thomas against the best version of Williams. Personally I see Thomas stopping Williams in a fight similar to how he stopped Weaver.

Thomas by late stoppage. If Thomas goes down which he may well do he'd get up, that guy had a hella chin.

Thomas was way better than Williams. He'd stop Williams.

Why? Because Thomas lost to Tyson whom you don't like so therefore since Williams lost to Liston and Ali who you do like so therefore Williams automatically beats Thomas?

Prime Pinklon's jab, however little we actually saw it in throughout his career. was a serious, ATG kind of weapon that would trouble most heavyweights from history. He had a damned good jab.

No but it's stupid to pick someone to win or lose based on something that has nothing to do with anything. You not liking a fighter has no bearing on whether his opponent would lose to another fighter or not. It's totally irrelevant.

That Williams losing to 176lb Scatterfield, or drewing with tiny softhanded Machen?

He won´t make it against 84-Thomas.

I don't base this off of my disdain (which I don't have at all) for Tyson. I just think Cleveland Williams was underrated as hell. Imo, he's the best fighter to never win the title.

Anyways if you want to criticize anyone picking Williams, why bother creating the thread?

Thomas is a better class of fighter. Thomas was only knocked down once in his entire career, despite being fed to Bowe and Morrisson when he was shot.
Thomas by stoppage, williams lands a bomb here or there but thomas responds with a stiff 1-2 accompanied by that barking sound he used to make, and retakes control and continues punishing williams with his jab.

"Drewing"? Satterfield was a powerhouse who common opponents said hit harder than Marciano! You also neglected to mention, He was 2 years into his pro career.

You're right. How could he ever replicate what the legendary Mike Hunter did?

He was a three year pro, losing to a light heavyweight. Period. He lost to another nobody shortly before too.
After that, he couldn´t get past Terell.

Hunter won a UD, prime Bowe needed 8 to put a corpse Thomas down! Yet Williams will make it vs. the prime version
Seasoned Thomas, before the long layoff after Holyfield, didn´t fall against anyone (including Weaver) until Tyson, who had to beat the **** out of him before this man got down! He won´t fall against Williams either. Its just nonsensical. Williams brings nothing to the table to achieve it.

I'll take Thomas too. When he looked good, he looked really good. I feel he's the more complete fighter. If he'd kept it together he might have been somebody.
