Pink has the jab, Shavers the power. Who would win it prime for prime?

There was a window in the 80's where Thomas was a pretty good fighter with the tools he had. ( I think he got involved with drugs.....and faded fast from the scene)

Thomas had an awesome chin, if he could deal with 16 straight punches from a prime Tyson before going down (he almost got up in time mind you) then one big shot from Earnie Shavers isn't going to make much of a difference.

The best Pink is much more polished than Shavers. He also has the chin to surrvive the Shavers power. I could see him getting decked or hurt but he will survive and stop Earnie late or get a decision.. In his prime Thomas had a sledge hammer of a jab and a pretty good right cross. He also used the Philly shell defense quite well

I would give Thomas the edge ... if he's in shape and motivated. Haven't seen a huge amount of him but what I did see, he looked like a good boxer with a decent set of whiskers. Obviously Shavers has his punching power going for him, so this one could be fairly close.

I pick the better schooled fighter.

Shavers hit hard, but was a poor finisher and not exactly durable himself

Another vote for Pinky. Probably gets rocked at some point but rallies for a win by stoppage.

Prime Thomas was the better fighter.

He had a great chin, too.

I see Thomas outlasting Earnie for a late TKO or decision win.
