On their respective best nights. How does this one pan out?

Pinky off the coke, could dominate this fight with that Listonesque jab.

But, I think even at his best, Thomas would have issues going 15 rounds, so it would not be a walkover in the end.

Thomas to be winning comfortable after 12, but Sharkey to come on strong in the championship rounds against the tiring Pinky.

    But still: Thomas WU15 (9-6)

Thomas, at his best, i believe would beat Sharkey with a consistent, fast jab. If he'd gotten a crack at Holmes' title, he might have ended up the greater fighter as well.

I like Sharkey to take a dec ,Thomas had a fine jab ,but it wasnt very quick,he had a hard right ,but again it wasnt speedy ,and he fought at a measured pace ,an "on" Sharkey could hustle a points win, imo.

I've got Thomas UD: pretty similar to how TBooze sees it. Sharkey would be extremely 'live' to the death and would come strong late, but just falls short in the end, don't forget Sharkey was a pretty skilled boxer too, not just some one dimensional slugger. Thomas is just seasoned enough to see it through the rough moments. I think this would be an intriguing battle.

Ta mate. From what I've read of some of your past posts you seem to rate Pinky highly. What are your thoughts on Sharkey and how the fight will go?

Like people have already said, Thomas had a very good/great jab and very good boxing skills and movement.

    Thomas clear but competitive UD.

Thomas was more consistent but on his best night Sharkey would be too much. Would outwork Thomas and take a close decision.

It's an interesting match up as both fighters had good moments but neither lived up to their potential ... I simply think Sharkey was the much more well rounded fighter. He was a real craftsman and very tricky ... Thomas showed me little but a hard jab. His stamina was average, his right inconsistant. He had heart as we saw in the huge beating he took from Tyson. He also had a hell of a chin ... taking many bombs before being stopped ... I like Sharkey by decision ... outworking him and outskilling him ...
