Two very talented Heavies with elite jabs. I would say Pink's jab was even better, but Tyson remarked recently that Tucker's was the best he faced and very difficult to slip. Both had the skills and the chin. I believe Tucker is more durable, that is debatable as well. No bs about outside the ring issues, both at their best. IMO a battle of the jabs with someone winning a SD. Thoughts?
Tony T...deffo.. In his prime only Tyson was too good and Tony survived with comfort fighting with one hand. Gave Lewis bother aged 33. Only guy to go distance with both. Beat Douglas and Mccall. Only started to lose when hit mid thirties..defeats to Hide Seldon etc shouldnt be held against him..past it by then..Tony T wasnt managed well..his father kept selling bits of him for upfront dough...then when the Tyson payday came there was loose change for Tony... Stylish fighter lacked agression..but too good for Mr Pink.
Pink would win because his disposition is to actually try to win, whereas Tucker would sort of just hang around.
Thomas was the better fighter of the 2...:deal Tucker was a fair fighter really nothing more, he was best known for his win over Douglas, a fight DOUGLAS laid down like a dog:-( and getting KO'D by the almighty John Ruiz... I would put my money on Pinky on points.. I assume were talking prime for prime here:huh
I could see Thomas winning the fight on points just based on his active and good jab but Tucker also had a good jab and I think when at his best was overall the better fighter. I see Tucker winning a close fight based on landing the better punches and combinations.
In my opinion, Pinklon Thomas had perhaps the most unheralded terrific jab in heavyweight history. - Chuck Johnston
nice to see Pinky getting some respect, yes both on their best night. Ive only seen Tucker vs Tyson, Lewis gotta see some more. Ive seen Pink vs Tyson, Tillis, and someone else forget who. But yes what a beautiful jab Pink had.
I think Pinklon did a little bit more in his career during his prime, and even though Tony is probably better skilled and more talented, Pinklon beats him on a close unanimous decision over 12, or 15.
This is an interesting matchup. Thomas is rated higher by most experts and achieved more, but styles make fights. Thomas was very slow of foot. His best wins were against Witherspoon and Weaver and those two stood right in front of Thomas. Tucker in his prime could move very well for his size. He would have a 2 or 3 inch height advantage. I envision him moving around the plodding Thomas and using his height and reach to outbox Thomas. I think Tucker would win a decision.
