Psychopath, ah, the great little nuances of grammar/syntax/semantics. The last "him" refers to Manny, the subject, not Gerry, see? OK, to avoid ambiguity I should have just said "Manny" instead of "him."

But again, The Underdog is right, GBP did not let Manny's Top Rank connection affect his involvement as "captain" of the Philippine team.

Yeah, it's a stupid remark. Forget the whole thing. It's good that both Top Rank and GBP saw the greater good and business advantage and not emphasize the contract dispute thing.

Now about the topic of this thread, personally I'm just happy that Pinoy boxers are finally getting due respect. And even government support -- there's now a bill for a pension and reward system for boxers. More encouragement for Pinoy boxers to excel. :happy
