No. That's not true. That's childish. atsch Donaire is a blue blooded Pinoy w/ Pinoy parents. We are proud of his achievements. We're also proud that he's now a P4P boxer.

 

One poster here said he doesn't like Donaire because his trainer is Robert Garcia. Childish. Garcia is a promising trainer. More Pinoys will gravitate to him after he succcessfully trained Nonito.

 

pinoys better start liking donair regardless of what he scores the marquez pacquiao fights....because who knows when there's ever gonna be another good filipino boxer after him and pacquiao

He seems like a decent guy from what I've seen and is one of the most skillful boxers in the sport today.

Coming after Pacquiao...it's hard to be liked by everyone.

 

i think why some pinoys don't like donaire as much is because he grew up outside the phils. and him being sort of patriotic doesn't seem as genuine as manny.

I was watching it with my roommate and she was almost in tears when Nonito said that he'll always be his daddy's son..or something to that effect. They weren't on good terms during that intervew.

Plus he sings WAAAY better than Manny Pacquiao.

I can relate to Nonito. Filipinos just don't like Americanized filipino americans..some of them.

I think Nonito needs to pander to his filipino roots. He fights with the typical 'african-american' slick style. BUT, we all know african americans won't support anyone who isn't black.

I'll tell you what though, Nonito is more marketable in the US than Pacquiao. Right now, he's like Marquez...just playing 2nd fiddle to Pac. I hope Arum markets him correctly but I doubt it.

He's got a sprinkling of showboating behaviour in the ring, without going overboard and being an ass.

Some of the guys who say he is hated because he thought JMM won, are probably exhibiting troll-ish behaviour.

Donaire pissed a lot of people off when they were about to become fans and he decided to take a bunch of easy fights.

i don't dislike him. in fact i like him alot.. i'm just not interested in him than i used to be. because admit it or not, he hasn't done anything since the darchinyan fight. he should leave arum if the fight with montiel does not happen

PS: i watched his last fight not because of him, but because i'm craving for more boxing matches. UFC/MMA is heavily promoted here, but not boxing except if a highly touted filipino participates
