donaire is not disliked by pinoys in the philippines. he's just less supported than pac. and you can't compare him to pac who is a homegrown full-fledged pinoy. pinoys support him this way because pac's just like a typical neighbor or someone from the town. a lot of people can relate to him more compared to a guy who grew up in the US.
Donaires the man. People have been quiet about him until recently because there wasn't much to talk about. If a few pinoys don't like him, who gives a ****?
So, people can only comment on something they've seen if they've been in the country it happened? The tv, internet, or magazines aren't enough for you? It seems like you would be incapable of any reasoned debate, so there's no point in trying.
I live in the Philippines. He's not treated like a god. Think more of like, Michael Jordan, during his glory days in the 1980s-1990s, in the city of Chicago. That's closer to reality. Trust me. Super star athlete, yes. Living sports legend status, yes. God-like, no. I think MJ was even more respected because the local press tried to stay away from his private life and his off court problems as much as they could.
well, i'm just saying it's a misconcepcion what you hear from where you from. it's not true! he freaking lost an election with a landslide while spending too much. he won in the last election because he had better allies (manny villar was a heavy favorite to win the presidential elections until a former president died and sympathies flew all over) Internet? TV? Magazine? well, it's easily misunderstood the contents of an article (forexample: pacquiao gets heroes welcome) after a big victory. it's good to see that in an article, but it's not true. there is no "march for pacquiao" here just remember. we watch pacquiao in the ring, not in the streets PS: i've seen people use your argument. people can commnet about other countries they haven't been before, yes that's true. but you can't say your comment holds truth. i'll tell you, it's stupid piece of ****
tv, magazines, and especially the internet do blow things up. walk the streets and you'd know. pac is far from god. i think pinoys would flock more to see kobe than pac.
that's what i'm freaking trying to say, and this intelligent one (as he calls himselfatsch) doesn't get it. he only throws insult like "you are incapable of intelligent debate, blah, blah, blah". sorry ass
his album ****ing freaking flops his composed song to counter ricky hatton's wonderland, it flopped and this guy is saying he is a god here because of what he reads in the internet, magazine and what he's seen in t.v?
Actually, if someone gets their point across in a reasonable manner, I'm happy to be proven wrong about anything. On the other hand, if they can't post a message without throwing around terms like "piece of ****" or "sorry ass", I'm just going to assume they're a dickhead.
People don't hate him. He's not as popular as Pacquiao, but who is? I actually think Nonito has a higher public profile and more recognisable among non boxing fans in the Philippines, compared to when Gerry Penalosa was champion in the 1990s-2000s, and to a lesser extent, Luisito Espinosa. Nonito is very media savvy and very outgoing. Does local sitcoms, does "Dancing with the stars" type shows (singing) and stuff like that. Sure, some don't like him, but that's natural.
