 I'm assuming those two are ****, then. Mine are made by Title and they've got a shitty velcro strap that doesn't even tighten. Any recommendations for decent gloves? I don't mind spending a decent amount as it'll make me want to use them. How do I know what size my hands are? What weight gloves do I need?

I thought decent gloves were about £100. Which weight do I want? All I'll use them for is my heavy bag. 14oz or 16oz?

Get some elcheapo bag mitts and hand wraps mate, that's a waste of money for someone not entering a ring.

If you want top of the range ones yes, but your only getting a pair for bagwork so you can find comfortable and functional ones for much less.

Up to you which you want, ive got two 12oz.

The other pair ive got leave me hands feeling like I have athritis after a bag session, they usually go white and ontop of that they provice next to **** all wrist support as it wont go tight enough for me around the wrist.

Pair above ive had next to know problem with, usually dont even bother with hand wraps.

Are you wrapping your hands? Check your wraps. They are probably too tight. The wraps should only be tight enough to stay in place not feel like a cast.

    i got some BBE's :)

    They aren't so bad!!!!

My other pair are some Shelvin's from the 80's! The ones with the thumb still unattatched.. real oldschool gloves. My coach gave them to me.

If I'm sparring I'm using some 16oz reyes which the gym provide.

My favourite are the BBE's because I've had them for about 2 years and they are molded nicely into my hands. However, the stitching is now mostly out and when I throw a quick jab the glove starts to slide off!

When I first started to box I had the same issue as you. My wrists and hands were in agony and really swollen for abuot 2 months. Its because I didn't wrap my hands or punch correctly.

Pins and needles is caused by a compressed nerve. It could be that you are prone to wrist problems/carpal tunnel, or it could be your punching technique/ill fitting gloves.

Do you spend a lot of time on the computer or doing something that can irritate your wrists?

I would examine my punching technique and get better gloves and see if the problem goes away. Try to keep your wrist straight when you punch, make sure the force of impact isn't being applied across a bent wrist, because that is a sure way to injure it.

oh yeah could be the wrists. I have issues with my wrists / fingers from keyboard use. Getting handwraps will really help support and keep your wrists straight. I used to use only bag gloves with no wrist wraps but the wraps make a world of difference and they are just cheap everlast wraps with velcro

The compressed nerve happens by the side of the 4th and 5th vertabrae on the back. Its pretty common in Boxers in relation to Bag work, and not stretching. Or the Hips are out of line, and the shoulders and area aroud compensate for stability.
