Two underrated WW Champs where you have the Puncher vs Boxer scenario. Cokes clearly the superior technician but you can't count out Cuevas' capabilities to break him down. Stylistically this has the makings of a brutal scrap. It all comes down to how Cokes is able to handle Cuevas' power and if he can consistently outbox him to the end. The way Kitten Hayward was ultimately able to overpower Cokes, despite a somewhat flawed & reckless attack of his own, leads me to favor Cuevas to do the same. This content is protected
Would have been a heck of a fight and people are selling Curtis short. Remember Price beat Cuevas and while price was good he did not punch as hard as Curtis. But if forced to pick I just think Cuevas overwhelms Curtis late in a great fight.
My gut feeling about this fight is that Cokes would be winning the fight, boxing smart and landing clean counters and then he gets caught and the fight is over shortly after that. But it wouldn't surprise me too much for Cokes to win a decision.
I thought Cuevas beat Price, or @ least arguably could've won. Plus Cuevas continued to get more seasoned after that fight.
Pipino Cuevas..shall chase down and smash Curtis Cokes to the canvas. Maybe Cokes would be up in the cards for like..7-9 rounds before the Mexican leaps and lands a left hook that crumbles Cokes.
I always like Price and his style and always wondered of Ray did not get him out in the first round how hard Price could have maybe tested Ray.
Hi Buddy. Had the privilege of seeing him in the flesh when he came over here to fight our own Dave Green, he put up a fierce battle, boxed like a dream, and had the sturdy chinned Green in plenty of trouble at one stage, I thought he was unlucky not to have received the verdict, in a very close and intriguing fight. stay safe Cobra33, chat soon buddy. Mike.
