Don does well the first few rounds until the body blows start taking effect. same story as usual; the opponent starts spending more time against the ropes, ie Chavez-Rosario, and ends up a total mess. Donald bravely wants to continue but the fight is stopped in the corner
I dont think cuevas has the skill level to get to curry, with currys handspeed and remarkable couterpunching with very good power, this could be very brutal for pipino this is a very bad match up for him the fighters that got to currys body were very skillful fighters,a fighter like cuevas that lacks those skills, would be near murder for a sharpshooter like curry
Cuevas is too easy to hit but Curry better not make a mistake or he goes to sleep. Curry by 5th round kayo.
Curry could fight very well in the pocket ,have a look at his fight with Colin Jones,I pick a prime Curry to win by late stoppage.
Curry could conceivalby win and if it's the 1985 version, he probably would decision Cuevas. But Jun-Sok Hwang floored him, and if Pipino landed that left hook, they could count to 100.It's lights out for Curry in the second round.
I was thinking of this fight myself. Jones was a good fighter and big hitter and Curry dismantled him. Cuevas was better and probably hit even harder. I think he'd have Curry's respect. I'll say Curry by TKO 9.
There'd be ever-present danger, but I like Curry a majority of times. He gets a bit underrated in historical h2h match-ups on here, and Cuevas a bit overrated. Still, ever-present danger - no doubt.
Cuevas had a lot of power, but that's pretty much all he had. He didn't even have a granite chin. Curry was a very good puncher at WW who did everything better than Pipino. He was floored by Hwang, but he wasn't hurt, he just got caught flush. Curry was a better offensive fighter than Pipino who pretty much had every punch in his arsenal. I could see Curry KOing Cuevas within 3 rounds before Pipino got started.
