Luis certainly ranks up there with Duran in terms of longevity and greatness. His toughness is unquestionable. Still, given Pipino's bone-breaking tendencies, I would think he would eventually break the Kid down. Cuevas just had too much firepower. That's my opinion, anyway.

Azteca was a pretty big banger in his own right, and Pipino's chin could be dented. I'll take the Kid over Cuevas in a sizzling slug-fest.

Nice post ecto, I generally agree. I wish we had substantial footage of him to clarify, but a fighter of Azteca's calibre, toughness, longevity and power would most likely have enough in his armoury to handle whatever Cuevas throws at him more often than not. Though I might fancy Cuevas' brutality to earn him at least one in a series, I might still expect that his relatively one-dimensional (but effective) approach would see him on the wrong end against a man who handled so many styles so effectively over such a prolonged period of time, however inconsistent he may have been - an unsurprising shortcoming when taking into account the frequency with which Azteca fought against such a high level of comp in such tough conditions.

Btw, I meant to say welcome to the forum a bit sooner, you've contributed some nice stuff so far.
