Viper, the question is whether he shuts Pipino out or forces some kind of stoppage. I'm not convinced Pipino would be able to hurt him, and he's obviously not going to take it on points.

Vernon may last a while if he boxes, but that's about it. Cuevas will eventually get to him and punch him out...literally.

Cuevas has a very good chance of doing what Mayorga did. But Forrest can win definitely and i see IntentionalButt's point. Forrest was quality, he'd be coming in with that uppercut behind the jab all day, then again fighting that way could be counter-productive against a monster puncher like Pipino. Stick to outboxing him Vernon.

Forrest should win this if he doesnt fight a stupid fight like he tried against Mayorga and sticks to boxing and stinging with the big right when Cuevas trys to come inside. The Viper that faced Mosley takes a wide UD

:deal:good Yey i agree Pipino is certainly capable of doing what Mayorga did, but if Forrest fights disciplined and boxes Pipino he would win a decision.

That's the thing, is in these matchups we usually assume the absolute best version of each at the weight unless otherwise noted. Best 147 lb Forrest is a massive favorite over best 147 lb Cuevas IMO.

I can see favoring Forrest but no way a "Massive favorite" got to consider how hard Cuevas hit and theres a good chance he might have gotten thru to Forrest. I know that mayorga had a different style and more awkward, but Cuevas hit harder and was a very relentless fighter himself.

Vernon takes an early lead, but Pipino catches up to him by round seven, and lays him flat.

I see Cuevas losing the early rounds and getting busted up.... Then catching Forrest with his lethal left-hook and knocking him out cold.

Cuevas by 9th round kayo coming from way behind.

Forrest would get tagged eventually, and KTFO. Vern matches up alot better with boxers then he does punchers.

Forrest is the exact rangy type of outside boxer, which Cuevas excels against. (Clyde Gray, Herold Weston, Angel Espada,Pete Ranzany). Forrest would have to deal with an extreemly high pressure fighter. Like Mayorga. if Vernon takes simular punches against Cuevas. He's in for a short fight.

Does Clyde Gray know he's rangy? Forrest is much bigger (and better) than the guys you've listed. And didn't the rangy Randy Shields gave Cuevas some problems?
