Great news! Hopefully it gets done in the US. His victory over Jacobs seemed to be a success, i think this bout would draw some good interest and exposure.

    C'mon Gealey :bbb

Americans paying for Russian vs. Australian middleweights, not sure of the value in this.

Best of the fight being in Russia.

Even with two titles on the line this fight doesn't mean a whole lot in the states. Pirog had the platform to raise his profile there when he beat Jacobs on a big HBO card but unfortunately due to bad management he failed to capatilise on that and has stagnated a bit since. Geale needs to hit the states asap. He has leverage, a world title so use it and stop pissing about talking about defending against Soliman or Adama in Australia. The only fight that gets Geale on US tv because he ain't getting Martinez any time soon, is Chavez jr. It's a winnable fight and he has the WBC title. Shaw and Grange should be on the phone to Arum making that fight happen and HBO would definetely ok Geale as an opponent for Chavez jr. They acccepted Manfredo !!

Thats the trouble, Americans care more about names in the spotlight
like Cotto and Chavez, when Pirog and Geale from a boxing standpoint -
    is a more important fight.

Pirog especially really needs the networks to buy into this fight,
because it makes him more marketable and then maybe Sergio Martinez
might be willing to come to the party.

Pirog is such a good fighter, but he is high risk/low reward for the Martinez
and Cottos of the world, Pirog would beat both.
I actually think Geale has a better show than most against Pirog,
as Daniel has great composure and is technically a very good boxer,
which is what is needed against the crafty Pirog.

    Just my take on things.

I wouldnt take the fight in Russia If I were Geale.

You'd favour Pirog over Sergio Martinez? Based on what? There's a big difference between Maravilla and Daniel Jacobs.

    Totally agree.
Sergio Martinez is clearly number 1 at Middleweight.

Pirog has a great defense, uses a lot of movement, I think he takes
it over Martinez, thats only my personal opinion.

I know Martinez would be heavily favoured to win the fight
and I understand if most ppl think he'd blow Pirog away.
He has been there and done it after all.

Anyway, I hope Geale rains on that parade.

Each to their own mate. I think he's fairly overrated at this point. I think Martinez would dismantle him.

I would pick Martinez over Pirog also. Probably stops him late in the fight IMO.
