Between injuries and failed drug tests it seems like a good fight gets cancelled every week this year. It seems HBO will keep Golovkin on as a main event if a suitable replacement can be found. Most of the top 160s are tied up but there are still some decent options-Macklin, Rubio, Barker, Quillen even a 154 guy like Lara. All would be letdowns from a Pirog match up but would make for ok replacements. I'd imagine Golovkin comes off the card and an entire new main event is found.
Pirog must be a *****-ducker hype-job. Boxers NEVER get injured and have to pull out of a fight. It's like when Ward pulled out against Froch with an "injury" aka he pissed himself in fear of a much better puncher and then that fight never happened.
That sucks donkey balls man! This was GGG's first step towards being undisputed MW champ. He was gonna kill Pirog and then kill that German coward Sturm. God dammit! Can any of these guys keep their fights? The amount of guys pulling out of fights is staggering. No one wants a challenge-they would all rather stroke themselves and have everyone stroke them and tell them they're the best rather than actually proving it. Strip that douche pirog and have Golovkin beat the top contender for it. This is why the fights should happen very soon after they are announced so none of these guys can decide that they are too scared to go ahead with it.
Still struggling with your White half. I would normally throw in some smiley emoticons but there is nothing funny about what you've got...
Dwyer didn't call ****. . . Why don't people believe he has a legitimate back injury? Pirog has never done anything to question him. . .
I'm surprised so many people are expecting GGG to blow through Pirog. Pirog has fought the better competition of the two and has never looked as vulnerable as Golovkin did against Ouma (not even against Maciel).
Dmitry Pirog ruptured a disc in his back while training, forcing him to pull out of an Aug. 25 HBO main event against middleweight titlist Gennady Golovkin, promoter Artie Pelullo told ESPN.com on Thursday. Pirog was training in the mountains in his native Russia, preparing for the bout, when he suffered the injury this past weekend, Pelullo said. "He trains with big tires and a sledgehammer, and he hits the tire with the sledgehammer, and he was doing that and he ruptured ..." This is from Dan Rafael & ESPN.
