This fight is off. Pirog is defending his title in Russia on May 1st. Looks like Barker will have to wait for his title fight.

    Whats next for Barker?

Gotta be Murray surely. Fair enough...the fight had to wait to see if barker could get pirog but now that seems shot to pieces I can't see what could stand in the way of this British board ordered fight.

Is it too late to get barker out on the Brook / Hatton card? He needs to keep busy.

Wallet's right, i never knew it was fully confirmed. Shame if it was but Barker may need a nice tune up.

Craig mcEwan should have his liceance ,could be a good scrap .Dunno if McEwans profile is high enough for Barker if you get my drift?

I was calling for this myself and I think I get your drift.

I think what you mean is

1- McEwan is coming off 2 defeats and from a rankings point of view would only server as opponent if he can build his name up a bit? Is that what you mean?

    or

2- Barker wants a title shot (even if its "regular" as opposed to "Emeritus") or a very big name at least.

In this case I think Barker will find it difficult.

In any case Barker won't be fighting Proksa and the European opponents, unless British won't help sell tickets / get tv revenue.

Therefore he needs a Daniel Geale or a Joachim Alcline or a Jermain Taylor/Winky right.:rasta

I think the McEwan idea makes sense, he's still a bit of a name (stateside aswell) and think Barker would handle him with relative ease

    lookign at it objectionally

well he is applyign for a BBBOC liceance to fight atthe AAA show in april mate. But hes coming off two defeat (last one was soft one thought -not his fault more the ref) and might not bea big enough name to keep Barkers fans and Rankings high enough .

i mean folk on here know him and more in AScotland boxing circles etc ,but might not be enoguh to entice Hearn to promote it .
