GGG has this stylewise. Plus that Jacobs then wasn't quite the fighter he was when he fought GGG (he certainly didn't weigh as much). Pirog vs Canelo would be interesting, but might have been a boring fight.
Golovkin wins this. Pirog was a special fighter and it would have been a hard fight whatever happened, though.
Pirog was getting outboxed by Jacobs until he landed the KO punch, Golovkin was having close rounds against Jacobs, he never got outboxed for long stretches
GGG will win, most probably by KO. As far as I remember Pirog admitted that GGG is better. Jacobs with GGG and Jacobs with Priog we’re on different levels.
I think Pirog is an excellent fighter. His signature win is the KO of Danny Jacobs. He has two other notable wins, Kofi Jantuah w-12, and Ishida w-12. Jacobs wasn't at his best in that fight. I'm sure he underestimated Pirog and was also grieving heavily because of the loss of his grandmother. I think GGG would have KOED Jacobs that night as well, especially if GGG was unknown like Pirog was at the time. I see the GGG that koed proksa in his HBO debut having a competitive fight with Pirog but ultimately stopping Pirog late. GGG is far more proven than Pirog with his 20 title defenses (18) by KO vs Pirogs 3 notable wins.
If both fight in their prime, I'd say GGG would win. Pirog might have great skill and defense, but GGG attributes are totally different level. GGG has a rock solid fundamental and not easy to handle his heavy and powerful shots.
