Lack of mental focus. Seems like they have a sense of superiority because of where they're from and believe they only need to turn up to win.
Ok. Wouldn't even have enough room in a thread to list all the champions from NY spanning every decade and every single weight class. Wouldn't disagree with this...I know black fighters from NY do seem to have this ultra cockiness about them. I actually find myself rooting against some of them, because I know firsthand from seeing them in gyms and in the amateurs how their attitudes are stank. I also think the fact that NY has so many boxing gyms, so many good boxers and such big tournaments that when you come up in the amateurs out here you fight so many people that you start thinking you can handle anybody. NY boxing is an intensive program and when you make it here, people start treating you like a star before you even turn pro.
