Terrible, terrible choice for Manny...

Mikey is coming off a humiliating loss, has the counter-punching technical style that has made Manny look at the least bad even in his prime, and has the power and punch delivery technique to maybe knock him out.

If Manny wins, so the he|l what? Spence already completely lobotomized Mikey earlier, back when he still had that "0". If Manny loses, it's all things gone wrong--and will probably be the end of the road. Mikey is a heck of a fighter, but for a potential "last meaningful fight" Manny deserves, and should have, a fight against a top five welter.

Not someone who wants to be a welterweight just for the paydays.

For Pacquiao, every fight is already a proverbial last hurrah. I hope they really make the most out of each.

Mikey's style is Pac's kryptonite.

If Manny fights him and wins, so what ? Yes he overcame an extremely difficult style for him, but against who? Someone who was humiliatingly whitewashed in the fight just before theirs, who for all intents and purposes hasn't even really proved he is a legitimate threat at welterweight. This fight would be more meaningful if it happens at 140 with lineal recognition at stake, otherwise it's just a waste of time for someone who has only one or two more fights to go. I don't think I can emphasize that enough.

As a fan I'd like to see him take on Spence, Crawford, maybe Porter if he by some minor miracle wins against Errol. I also realize that would be very risky at this point in his career. But every fight would be very risky at 40 years of age. But Mikey ? Still risky, and absolutely not much in it even if Manny wins.

 

mikeys timing is going to make pac look slow. pac is made for mikeys style, hes got a predictable advance that counter punchers can eventually time, like thurman started to do. he used to be too fast of foot to get timed coming in... not so much now. mikey is much better counter puncher than thurman, he can actually hurt you while moving back. i think mikey will show pac too much respect to stop him, but he will outpoint him comfortably.

 

Mikey is all heart, but he has nothing to offer as a WW.

 

as Much as people are saying PAC is getting overrated at this stage in his career I think people are also overrating Mikey. He hasn’t don’t **** at 147. On top of that Mikey will be under trememndious pressure to win this. He lost so much credibility from his last fight. Not from the lost itself but from the lackluster performance where he was doing everything he can to make it to the final bell. Will Mikey crack under pressure when the old man shows more speed and power than Mikey anticipate.

I honestly see this as a money grab fight from Mikey. He will make more from this than his fight with Spence. Having said that I would love to see this fight.

Mikey doesn’t deserve this fight. Pac is so shot that he is going to make Mikey look better than he is. I think Pac might win a close decision.
