Watch the fight again. Tank couldn't do anything to Cruz. Cruz bullied him and landed the harder, more significant shots. Tank gets credit for his chin, but he mostly caught Cruz witth glancing blows and all those flashy power shots he looked to have landed were slipped, hit gloves, or deflected.

Still picking The Android for the upset though. The knockdown against Avelar was more of an unexpected balance shot, he wasn't all that hurt by it. Gutierrez is a monster puncher, might be as heavy handed as Tank, and he took his punches well. Also, Garcia isn't a dumb fighter, he's not going fight Tank as irresponsibly as he fought Colbert. He knew he had nothing to fear and could afford to get that sloppy. So, I don't doubt that we'll see him rely on his solid amateur skillset a lot more tonight.

Tank has fought guys at 140. Garcia is moving up from 130. Major distinction. Garcia is a pretty good fighter. He is getting knocked out here.

Love to see it. It is more PBC smoke & mirrors which has been typical of how they've gone about managing Twink's career.

Of the 7 world champions Tank has fought Gamboa was 38 y/o and shot to hell and a world champion way back in 2013

Cristobal Cruz was 38, shot to bits, a world champion way back in 2009 down at 126, as was 1-7-2 in his last 11 fights

Hugo Ruiz was a world champion down at 122

Cuellar was a former WBA regular champion down at 126, a career 126 who never fought at 130, and was coming off a 16 month layoff and a loss but was somehow nominated to contest the vacant 130 title with Tank

Barrios was the WBA regular champion at 140 whose only claim to fame was winning a hometown gift from his three home judges against a 7 fight novice. That's how Barrios won his bogus belt

Leo was the IBF champ at 118, the WBC champ at 122, the WBA champ at 126, and he won the WBA belt in his previous fight, and only fight at 130, when paired up for the vacant title against fellow 126 pounder

Pedraza was the IBF champ at 130 and the WBO champion at 135 So in his 10 year career Tank has only fought one prime real world champion who was a world champion in the division he fought them in and one or two legit guys

But maybe, and hopefully, bearing in mind what you say, they've made a miscalculation :D

There's no doubt I have a heavy bias going into this match, since I fell in love with Hector's style immediately and knew after watching a round of him in action that he was going to upset Colbert. And yeah, I agree, everything in Twink's career up until now has been a carefully orchestrated mirage, and I fully believe that they think that's what they're doing with this one. But just like they did with Isaac Cruz, they miscalculated. So I do have my fingers crossed, that they've done it again. Garcia has the build to fill out nicely, he seems to have a solid beard, he was eating bombs from Gutierrez and took them without blinking, and his power which is underrated, hopefully will benefit from the move up in weight. Clearly there's no guarantees, especially when they're trying to stack the deck the way they always do, but if Hector fights smart, the way I think he can, this one may very well explode in their face.

I hope you're right and they have miscalculated here but even if they have Garcia will have to win via KO or completely dominate to get the win because the judges are going to be very likely batting against him too.

    Judging by this response,
It is clear that you have studied it more & watched it more then I have.
Just the one time for me.
I’ll give it a few more watches to see if I can see your angle.
    To be continued…

Pimp I know you know your boxing man but I gotta call you on this.

Maybe you're just forgetting since it's been awhile since the fight but you really should rewatch it. Having Tank winning the first round while backpeddling 85% of it while throwing less, landing less, and landing at a lower connect percentage on top of that, is almost indefensible.

Out of 36 different cards I looked at, 36 of them had Cruz winning the first round, and 17 of them had him winning the second.

But not a single card I've seen gave Tank the first round.

Saying Cruz didn't win a round until Tank got hurt is simply a poor statement.

Also, while some might get excited by the fact that Stank is no longer being promoted by Mayweather, so a gift win might be less likely. But people shouldn't fool themselves, no way in hell is Showtime and PBC willing to lose out on that Tank-Kingy dough.:nonono

They really won't. The deck really is stacked against Garcia. He needs to come out dressed as a woman brandishing a toothbrush with fake poop on it
