Hey guys, so almost 2 years ago my friends and I started a podcast. In that time we had guests like Shawn Porter, Austin Trout, Ice-Man Scully, Ryan "Blue Chip" Martin, and Steve Cunningham. We had to end it as I left for New Zealand, and my co-hosts had work placements, thus ending the show......Until now. Hopefully, I am still able to post this up here, as a lot of our listeners came from East Side Boxing. Heres the link: https://soundcloud.com/pinkjumpsuitboxing/episode-26-comeback-f-awesome We talk all boxing, and have an intro from Cam F Awesome, and an interview with Steve Claggett, coming off his loss to Danny O'Connor. Cheers!!!
Congrats. Just stay hanging in there and grow your **** ,get some sponsors, and then invite some of these old fighters on to build name recognition. Thank me later.
We have had talks with some older fighters. To be honest, it's a lot easier to deal with the younger fighters when it comes to calling in/ setting up skype. We are looking to get sponsored from some local fight promotions, so hopefully that works out. But yeah, great advice. Need all the help we can get, as leaving the podcast for almost 2 years has made our followers go from 2 thousand to 150, haha.
Podcasting is the new terrestrial radio, it's hard work. Consistency is key. I see a bunch of guys from Youtube, bring that audience over to podcasting where they are free to express themselves more, and as the audience grows in comes the money. Maybe you should start a channel if its not over saturated. Also I like the idea of interviewing young fighters better. In fact get them before they get hyped and it'll look like you guys are on the cutting edge of knowing who the next great stars are. I don't know really, I just like making money, that's all the angles that I ever look for.
Yeah, I was going to throw it up on youtube tonight, I think you're 100% correct. Our lack of youtube channel, was one of the biggest flaws we had the last time we were doing it. To be honest, we just do this because we love boxing; money has never been something we thought of, haha. We got really excited when Mac's Convenience Store, and Dr.Pepper said they would give us free vouchers, haha. Thus far, we were in talks with an MMA/Boxing promotion in Fort St. John BC, and a Calgary fight promotion DEKADA (just had Zab Judah fight here because of it) and we hope those pan out. It would be AMAZING to get paid to do something you love, but we just love having an outlet for our friends to listen to when it comes to fights, so we will just be gracious if good things start happening. Really great insight though Willie, thanks so much for the support, and advice, we appreciate it, I hope you like the podcast.
