Well if Sergio makes it to the scorecards I think thats and indication right there that a longer training camp, for a fight he KNEW he was gonna get, helped him.

I think Pavlik and his people handpicked Martinez as a small fighter. Whenever you pick an opponent who gave a good fighter a hard fight and he is placed with another good fighter, the matchup usually is not the same. Look at James Kinchen. He gave Hearns a really tough fight and knocked him down and only Tommy's heart and clinching saved him from losing. Well then Kinchen fights Virgil Hill and gets stopped in one round and later Hearns beats Virgil by UD.

This is Pavlik's first fight back on HBO since Hopkins. HBO had a lot to do with the opponent.

Nah. He will have his moments of looking great and will take a few rounds, but he's too open for Pavlik. He's got great reflexes but Pavlik is going to end up bullying him around the ring and landing punches at will because he just doesn't keep his hands up and he relies too much on reaction and reflex.

You have to understand Pavlik is coming into this fight to prove something and fighters like that are dangerous especially when the have stamina & power. I say Pavlik by ko but believe Martinez has a chance. Tough bet I'll just see what others have to say.

Martinez will dominate Pavlik more than Hopkins.

Nine times out of ten "boxing fans" who wouldn't know a left hook from a fish hook make posts like this one.

Anyone who actually has so much as a rudimentary knowledge of boxing knows Martinez lacks the size, strength, power, and defense to do any of the things that made BHop a nightmare for Pav.

Pavlik will catch Martinez chin eventually. If it doesnt happen at first, Martinez' chin will get tested in the latter rounds for sure. And then we will see if things have changed and Martinez learned how to take a punch better, or if it becomes accumulation, how to deal with it while being tired.

I call the fight 50/50. I can see Martinez out boxing Pavlik, but I can also see Pavlik landing one big punch on Martinez to end it all.
