Plant vs Eubanks JR

    I think it’s a bad style Match up for Eubank JR
    I see Eubank beating the shopworn Degale who just went life and death with Truax X2

    Plant moves too much for Eubank to be effective. Eubank does well against guys that come to him that’s why I see him possibly stopping Degale.

    Aside from his movement, Plant's size would be a big problem too for Eubank Jr. Last year he was too small against Groves, who wasn't the biggest SMW out there. We'll see how he adapted to this weight, very soon.

    One thing Groves did great was he avoided getting caught in the ropes. That's very important against Eubank.

    Plant does get stuck on the ropes. That can get him in a lot of trouble vs Eubank, especially if the ref is the kind of guy who stops a fight prematurely, like Luis Pabon. If he can avoid the ropes, he could decision Eubank, even potentially stop him late.

    It's simple. Anyone with a good jab who can keep Eubank at range will beat Eubank. Anyone who doesn't and allows Eubank to fight up close will lose.

    Plant's style is horrible for Jr. Movement and a fast jab. UD win.

    yea plant smahes all these guys . but u really think degale is going to beat chris. i see eubanks sending him into retirement. or at least eubank beating with ease

    Here's my post from the Brit section.

    Degale wins by relatively wide UD. Yeah he lost to Caleb Truax, which probably had something to do with the fact he was coming off of an injury, and the best Truax had looked at Super Middleweight was being KO'd in one by Anthony Dirrell. So he took the fight for granted, thought it would be easy work, but by that time Caleb had gotten acclimated to being 168 pounds, probably trained his heart out for this big opportunity. So you had one guy not taking this seriously at all, and the other guy taking it more seriously than any match he'd had to date. Which is usually recipe for disaster.

    Degale will get up for this one, he doesn't like Junior, and the thought of losing to him, a wide UD victim of George Groves, is probably genuinely mortifying to Chunky. James will end up looking brilliant, and everyone will think he's back, but the reality will be that even the Degale from the second Truax match is too skilled for Chris Eubank Jr.

    I genuinely feel a bit nauseous at the thought of this match up and I'm all but certain I would actually vomit if I could summon the strength to watch any of the pre-fight press conferences.

    I have a serious aversion to Plant but I think he'd easily out maneuver Eubanks.
    Eubanks at MW had athleticism which more or less made up for his deficiencies.
    At SMW he still has deficiencies, he's little, and the top guys are all pretty physical.....

    Eubank has reached his ceiling.
