I like him and he was very impressive on Sat, but he beat Alfredo Angulo not Floyd Mayweather or Manny Pacquiao, and now there's thread after thread matching him against all time greats. What had Angulo done that was so special before hand? In fact he was 2-2 in his last 4 fights. Let's not get carried away.

Yes, before Angulo was going to destroy the hype job Canelo. Now Angulo is shot, a bum, was paid off, his trainer isn't using the mitts right, the ref was corrupt..... They hate Canelo so much, they didn't see with their own eyes all the flush power shots that were knocking Angulo two feet back, the body shots, the combinations snapping Angulo's head back, Angulo backing up, gunshy, hurt and beat up. The explanation that Angulo was actually out boxed and outslugged is impossible for them to admit.
All that is true but Angulo still isn't good. Probably one of the worst fighters fighting at this level.
I'm not overrating Angulo. And I'm not overrating the win. Before the fight, I actually thought Canelo would have an easier time with him. But as with any fighter, it's a matter of strengths and weaknesses. Angulo is not a top 10 junior middle, but he can still give hell to top 10's with his power, aggression and toughness. He's no walk in the park for anyone.
I'm not totally sold on canelo after the Trout fight buts that just my opinion. I think Lara gives him fits with his movement. Psssh... I don't consider Trout a true elite fighter either.
After watching Angulo's performance, I have to say that the fight and damage he took from Lara ruined him. We will have to wait until Canelo is matched with lara or some other fighter with a skill level between Lara and Mayweather to see what he is really made of.
