hello everyone. big boxing This content is protected fan here, but only since 2006. i've watched tons and tons of fights from the past to today. my younger 17 year old bro, doesn't watch nearly as much boxing as i do. just the major ones. we decided to get in shape again, by running. but in addition to running, we wanted a fun workout, so we purchased a ringside 130lbs water/foam heavybag. keep in mind that we aren't trained at all, but would love to join a gym here in las vegas soon (just need the money, hehe). here's a video of my bro, with borrowed gloves from friends who were/are amateur boxers. the gloves my bro used are 10oz amateur , and 18oz ringside imf tech. i am quite worried that bad habbit can develop if this continues without professional coaching from a boxing trainer, and it will probably be hard to break those bad habbits, but once we join a boxing gym, we shall see what the trainer can correct! as for my own video, i am uploading soon. what do you think? please critique! oh, and he is 190lbs, 5'8" [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=taCb4V4f5_A&feature=player_embedded[/ame] [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t9Ltfq8RKWQ&feature=player_embedded[/ame]
pivot your feet more especially when you throw that hook to generate more power. stick to the left hook. try not to throw the right hook when your so far away. if your going to hook with the right do it on the inside.
First thing my trainer would show is you throwing a wild punch while holding your chin up as to say ´Hit me, you sissy´. Also keep the hands up. Easy to counter. Mh, and pivoting the legs a bit more would be supper.
Decent. He's got solid footwork, a good guard, and a good hook. Not a great straight puncher. His arms are on the short side.
some things that should be pointed out: those right hand uppercuts at 2:20 are a big no no imo. work on backing out at angles rather than heading straight out. there are times when you slap with your left hook. work on tightening that arch and keep your arm more level and parallel to the ground a good thing is that you step with your jab, but you forget to rotate your shoulder into it...try it out as it can add an extra inch to your reach while adding power and protecting your chin better. no more leading with left hooks from range, you don't look like the type that can pull it off. stick to a conventional guard keep it up!
