Nothing wrong with that. Mine as of this second off the dome 1. Henry Armstrong 2. Harry Greb 3. Ray Robinson 4. Sam Langford 5. Ezzard Charles 6. Benny Leonard 7. Roberto Duran 8. Mickey Walker 9. Muhammad Ali 10. Barney Ross
With most of the murderers row group there is two reasons they didnt rule their main division: noone gave them a shot in their prime, the war froze the titles. There was a period of time when he was the best lhw campaigning in the division though. From.the top.of my head it's something like bivins beat christoforidis then moved up, Marshall beat bolden then lost to Moore who lost to Williams then won the rematch then lost to Charles who tore his way through the best lhw and hw fighters until the war ended and he finally received his title shot against Walcott. I mean yeah looking through the ring top tens he doesn't spend a whole heap of time at the top but that's purely circumstantial and doesn't tell the story. I mean he beat burley at mw, Moore at lhw and Louis at hw. That's a top 10 atg in each weight class. With Charles the argument should be how far up the top ten he is.
I don't really have a top ten yet but if someone was threatening to **** me unless I produced one it would look like Robinson Armstrong Greb Fitzsimmons Langford Leonard Charles Moore Pep Ali I'm only really happy with my top 7 though. The others I ain't sold on. I'm gonna put the fab 4 all from 10-20 though it just feels right to me.
I like that. Charles; I'm still trying to grasp more. (For some reason.) I'd presume your top-4 are all interchangable? Why no Pep?
Agree. I see a lot of Jack Johnson over Joe Louis too and I just can't fathom it. 1. Ray Robinson 2. Hank Armstrong 3. Harry Greb 4. Sam Langford 5. Ezzard Charles 6. Muhammad Ali 7. Ben Leonard 8. Roberto Duran 9. Archie Moore 10. Ray Leonard
I've no problem with Pep being rated around 11-15. I tend to leave him out of the top 10 a lot of the time :think
