This exactly how I saw it man but didnt wanna comment more on this fight until I rewatched it... but my impression was less that belal didnt grapple because he couldnt, or it would have been worse for him then striking with a striker, but that he was committed to not grappling like he said he would be pre fight, and how a lot of these mma fighters are being (all this nonsense talk about agreements to not so takedowns, ect ect)

Na you got it spot on, watching it live I thought he wasn’t grappling because he couldn’t.

He just went to the grappling when he started losing on the feet, but a mix of JDMs good take down defence, ability to get up and Belal having received a pasting and being worn down were the reasons why it didn’t work.

Belal isn’t going to get a chance to run it back and that’s for him to live with sadly.
