Mate. It's wrong to leave out computers. I'd much rather set in my comfy computer chair in front of a 21.5" monitor with big comfy headphones on than sit on a couch in front of a 55" tv. In fact, my tv gets almost no use as it is. If I can watch fight on my computer then that's where I'm going to be. I'll pay 10$ for a streaming service long before I'd pay 50+ for a tv subscription for a bunch of stuff I don't watch. When tv networks let me pay for Showtime or HBO without being packaged in with a bunch of other bull crap let me know, until then streaming isn't going anywhere.

We all have a choice to do whatever the F we want to do. How much is DAZN monthly? Is it worth it? Do we get fights all over the world? I like watching fights on my computer too. Why not just get the stream on a big screen to get the same effect as a TV screen.

It's just going to happen. Network TV and Cable television is on its way out... Monitors themselves obviously aren't going anywhere lol.

Not to mention that you can easily rig up a computer to a big TV via HDMI if that's an issue.

I'm really curious how PBC haters like Steve Kim are feeling right now. This guy criticised PBC for their fights, which he considered not consistently good and now he will have to pay a crap of cash for DAZN, ESPN +, SHO, HBO and etc.......for basically the same content.

Laudable aim, but with respect I think you've chosen the wrong target.

The existing broadcasting world is changing before our eyes. Don't think in terms of hard pressed families having to add these costs to their cable subscription, think about them cutting that cable and adding a Dazn/espn/prime/Netflix to their household and still having change.
Think about them still able to watch the fight when they're at their friends or families house, or to watch it later without worrying about setting a recorder. Think about them being able to stop and restart the subscription easily if they're away on holiday, don't like that months schedule or times are tough.

This should spell good news for boxers and consumers alike.

I don't see what the issue is? If DAZN and Eddie do get a lot top quality boxers on board, provide the shows they're saying they will provide and the 4 PPV style events each year all for.....$9.99 per month then it's a revolution for US fans. As long as it doesn't go the way Boxnation has over here in the UK it sounds like the future to me. Personally I'm all about subscription based content. I'll take Amazon Prime and Netflix over a sky sub all day every day. I would rather pay to watch specific content that I want than pay for 300 channels worth of dog sh!te so I can also see the bits I actually want to watch. I don't know what you people are moaning about?

They will keep charging if the free market allows them too. Supply and demand.
We should all be cutting the cord soon and buying the content we actually want in an Á la carte manner. That’s good news, if you ask me. Sure, there will be growing pains along the way but overall, we are headed in the right direction.

Obviously, that's why I said it ain't going anywhere, but the way you said it, it came across like you thought it was, and for that matter Cable and Network TV isn't going anywhere either. No matter how many Roku's or Amazon sticks or streaming sites that come along, they won't catch on with enough of the public an become a mainstay for long enough to replace anything, because most of this stuff is too much of a pain in the ass for regular people to have to deal with. Cable TV is far more convenient, just because Hulu, Netflix etc. have had a modicum of crossover success, most people view them as almost like a supplement to Cable, not as a replacement. Also, the idea of everyone paying an a la carte 5 or 10 dollars a channel, is an automatic turn off, imagine someone having to pay 30 or 40 individual bills to each channel that they want. A single cable bill will do just fine thank you. Granted this is an oversimplification, I'm just glossing over a few of the variables that annoy people and turn them off to the idea. 1 cable box with a few supplements on the side, is far more convenient and palatable than the idea of doing away with cable altogether. I'm rambling. You get my point. People like convenience, and most aren't techies.

Are they charging extra for the big fights on top of the subscription?

I agree that you shouldn’t spend money on this if you’re below the poverty line, having trouble putting food on the table to feed yourself or your family — in which case you should also cancel your cable TV, Netflix, music streaming service and any other expense that is taking away from funds that are needed for basic survival. By all means.

Now exactly why I should not take a FREE month? You lost me there.

But for the rest of us, I don’t think it’s up to others to tell us how to spend our money.

I don’t see you calling for people to boycott movies, paying for music or a bunch of other things on the idea that those should be free to all. Who exactly is going to bear the cost for these productions (boxing shows or otherwise — paying the fighters or the musicians or actors/actresses) so we can all have them for free?

Let’s be real: for MOST of us, the cost of one of these (DAZN or ESPN+) is in line with skipping one meal at a drive-thru per month — so taking lunch to work in a paper bag one day out of 30, maybe two. If I decide I want the streaming boxing service (one, both or all), that’s my business.

To be frank, if you don’t want to pay for these things and wish to share why you don’t in hopes that others might feel the same way, that’s fair game. But I do not think it’s the place of someone on a boxing message board to tell me how or how not to spend my money.

    Am i missing something?
How’s paying 9.99$ a month with no extra cost for so called PPVs worse than paying whatever you pay for cable and cost of PPV on top of that?
If anything, provided DAZN actually succeeds with their plans, this should be a lot more lower/middle class friendly than current way of things.
