I hear about Mosley being the first good boxer Pac is fighting even freddy is selling this bull****, but I been watching Mosley fights all last week and I don't see this pure boxer guy everybody is talking about, from what I saw Molsely just loads up with punches and paws with the jab and has been doing it for year the the difference now is that the speed is gone and he tires faster.

Pac and Mayweather outbox Mosley in his prime, and UD him period.

    agree 100%
    Mosley is highly overrated.

and i hate to say this, but his career is somewhat questionable coz of the PED admission....

I agree, but maybe if he can fight him the way he fought Collazo he'll be well off

I was rewatching Mosley in his prime against Oscar in the first fight and the way he is fighting now and the only thing he had in the past was more speed and stamina but the style is still the same.

I believe that Floyd Mayweather Jr beats any version of Shane because of the style, Shane just can't handle good boxers with good defense like Winky and Floyd and rangy/tall like Vernon.

I hate to hear **** like this. Mosley should be ranked as one the all-time great lightweights. He just never was able to get past the pure boxers at the larger weights.

I love Mosley but he's no ATG though he's close because of the wins against DLH(one being very controversial). He was fast and good to watch during his lightweight/early welterweight days. Watch more of his lightweight fights I'm sure you'll change your mind.

Correct. Even Cotto's good jab found Mosley and helped him win. Also what TS says below me.

Mosley was always more of a slugger/brawler. People tend to think of this style of fighter as being a slow, lugging guy, but he was a speedy slugger. He wasn't a "pure boxer", but that doesn't mean he didn't have skills. Just a different set of skills. While his defense may not have been great, he did mix in some nice slick moves here and there with his upper body movement. He'd make little steps in the pocket to get the right angles on his shots, often they were brutal bodyshots.

Mosley's resume at lightweight makes it hard for him to be ranked that highly in such a historically rich division. He'd be a handful for most LWs head-to-head, not only due to his talent, also his size, but his opposition at the division really hurts him.

Freddie Roach knows Mosley is not a slick boxer, but he also knows that the casual boxing fan would assume Mosley is a slick boxer cause he is/was fast and is also a Black American.

Even during his lightweight days he was always a speedy slugger.

He took a prime Miguel Cotto so close that a few people scored it a win for Shane and even more scored it a draw (in a thread a while back most had Cotto by one or two points I think.) Not bad for an old man against the next big thing. In his prime Shane would bust the guy up worse than Margarito with his special handwraps.

I never get why people say he can't box. He boxed the **** out Luis Collazo, a man who is a slid boxer relying on speed. Of course he is a very good boxer, he just don't have the diversity you expect of a Floyd Mayweather or Ray Leonard.

I think this would have been a great fight for Shane in his prime. Guys like Shane & Tito were great fighters, but you put them in there with a great boxer & they lose every time.

Mosley is one of the most overrated fighters of this generation. Very limited in the type of styles he can beat. Anyone with good lateral movement who didn't stand in front of him gave him problems. And no, DLH is pretty much a straight up fighter. Mosley had no jab. Seldom led. He was pretty much a great combination puncher against guys who stood right in front of him. That's when he used his hand speed and power to overwhelm guys.
