He won it far more convincingly than Pacquiao, there can be no disputing that. ESB isn't the most reliable evidence I know, but I seem to remember a near 50/50 split for the Pacquiao fight

I'm happy to use the most recent fight, or any others. You decided to take a selective sample, using one of Pacquiao's better past performances, and comparing it directly against Calzaghe's recent performance which is one of his worst. Unfair.

Actually, it demonstrates the point of clear rounds for Calzaghe compared to Pacquiao, given the supposed contraversy.

IMO Marquez IS that much better than 43yr old Hopkins.

And if you compare their whole body of work over the last 3-5 yrs, Pacquiao holds and advantage. Having beaten 3 P4P ranked fighters to Calzaghe's 1.....(one of Pacquiao's is dubious IMO as is Calzaghe's one, because neither Hopkins nor Morales belonged on P4P lists IMO)

Even so, if there was any justice the fight would have been scored a draw or I could even see it scored in Marquez' favour if anything, I'd have to rewatch

This wouldn't even be an issue.

I scored it for Marquez. But I could also clearly see a score for Pacquiao. But that is about that fight itself. The result of that fight is Pacquiao won a SD. I think Pacquiao has beaten the better overall competiton. I also think that Calzaghe is fading and therefore his skill level is dropping.

Either way, too each their own.

I follow and respect your posts and you have made many a good point in the past and are not a homer or nut job. But the DLH remark is? well I will give you the benefit of the doubt and just say that your esteem for Calzaghe is making it tough, OK!

    I dispute that!

I had JMM beating Pac by a point and Hops beating Calzaghe by a point, so there.

Accepting the result as a simple W L or D is dangerous. How far do you take that? If somebody gets robbed in broad daylight do we accept it then? No no, my rankings take into account if I think somebody got a lucky ass decision, otherwise the p4p rankings are a false reflection of reality

Agreed, the game is nearly up for Joe. But at the same time, Pacquiao is looking less and less impressive to me as his power and speed decrease each time he jumps in weight. He'll look poor at lightweight for my money.

Calzaghe is a better all around boxer ..Combine that with his accomplishments and its a no brainer !

Pacquio for all his success lacks all around boxing skills that would edge him above the likes of Joe !

There's no clearer rounds than a KD. So to your point, yes it was clear as day when Joe lost the round, and clear as day when pac won his round. You made it sound as if Pac scoring a KD and only still coming out with a controversial decision was worse than Joe getting knocked down and coming out with a controversial decision. Id rather be the one to have scored that KD to climb myself into a position than be the one who has to lift his ass off the canvas to try recover his position.

Overall better boxer based on what? I think Pac KD 3 HOF fighters a total of 11 times and beating all 3 proves hes the better boxer. On top of that, just those 3 alone along with his accomplishments of 3 ring belts and 4 weight division champ gives him the WIDE accomplishement edge too.
