is not fighting at all. I mean, his last fight was against shane and that was more than a year ago. I'm a huge Floyd fan and it really pisses me off he's wasting his superior boxing skills doing nothing but all this crazy **** outside the ring. Let's keep this thread clean from all ******* ***** usual bull****. Let's be honest here for once, tell us how you feel about floyd no longer entering the ring. Here, let me have this poll

Why fight when you can win all fantasy match-ups?

He is definitely worried about the '0'...he has marketed himself as undefeated for years, so you can't expect him not to be worried.

Or, he genuinely could have lost the desire to fight again. People joke about his loss of 'urge', etc...but if you lose the urge to fight, you don't want to be in the ring, with any opponent. I wouldn't be surprised if it was the latter.

i'm not so sure about that, as he already has the name, and he doesn't have many fights left, if at all

Nah, I think it's pretty clear that the '0' has an affect on him, and how he is promoted, etc. He doesn't have many fights, if any left...but he would not want to go out on a loss IMO. Which in turn means if he is defeated, his marketing will have to change.

I think dude has 2 maybe 3 fights left, I would think the 'urge' would return soon, with wanting a couple of paydays.

:good without the 0 and the prospect of seeing him getting punched hard in the face he never really had any other marketing strategy

You never know though, once you fall out of love with the sport, it may never come back. If he has lost the desire to fight, it could just be a coincidence that the Pacquiao bout was on the horizon...or it could be that he is worried about losing. He is at an age when it could possibly feel like a chore to train, or go through a training camp. Once boxing feels like work, it is almost definitely harder to keep your motivation/hunger for the sport.

He has been in a boxing ring since he was a baby. **** he was taking to a gym before he could walk. If you really are a fan of boxing then you know that Floyd had been hinting at retirement and slowing down since Baldomire. He is 34 and has had gloves on since 3 yrs old. He should be tired of boxing by now. People say he is afraid to lose his 0 and if that was true then he wouldn't have fought 41 times. Lmao! I honestly think he is worrying about his court case. The one with the baby momma. That other **** is nothing.

i think it may have, but saying he only has a couple of fights left, and if he losses one them, his marketing would have to change, doesn't really make sense

    i mean

lose his next fight and he gets a rematch with a HUGE revenge aspect to the marketing...then retire

sure he may have been really worried about it when he starting getting to the 30+ wins area, but i just don't see the logic in it now

although, maybe there just isn't any logic in it

The problem being, what if he is absolutely destroyed by say Pacquiao? His claims of being undefeated, no blueprint, etc will come flying back at him. The '0' will be in the back of his mind until he finally hangs the gloves up, the '0' will be there because he keeps reminding us that it is there. And his promotion of this has been great.

Do any of you remember him upset after the Baldomire fight? I remember him saying he is never going to get the respect he deserves so what's the point. He changed a lot after that fight with his attitude. Started talking about retirement a lot and he was like **** this **** and this legacy ****. Get me my money.

the reason is that if he comes back he wont be allowed to fight on big time tv for long unless he meets the pacman

he will be scrutinized until he does so

and he dont wanna do that

    not at all

He will pretty much always be on 'big time tv' as long as he keeps providing the numbers, against Pacquiao or not.

The fact that Pacquiao's last PPV was on Showtime supports the argument.
