Josh didn't get robbed. I think Josh could have won had he been more busy but I was wrong. Cotto won on sheer will and determination. I thnk Josh was the better technical boxer but COtto was more busy and more active. He wanted it more and showed a champions heart which earned him the "W". But it was CLOSE and it could have gone to Josh as well. I scored it for Cotto by only a single round.

Can't score 9-9 unless point deduction for round 1, 10 pt. must, could've been 10-9 for Cotto though.

Clottey defeated himself. In most early parts of every round, he let cotto pile up points and just locking up his shell. And with the nasty cut that cotto suffered, he failed to capitalize on that. He lets the illusive fame and $$$ slips away.

A KD results in a point deduction thus giving you the 9-9 round IF you though Clottey did enough to win the round despite the KD. A lot of people seem to think that a KD results in an extra point for the fighter that scored it when in fact it's a point deduction for the fighter that went down.

Lets not forget AP scored the fight 116-111 Cotto..Cotto could have taken the easy way out and have the doctor stop the fight and go to the card, and knowing the scoring from the judges he would have won also....yet he didn;t..give credit to a gutzy performance by Cotto

The only thing that counts are scorecards. Oh Clottey did this, did that better. Post the scorecards. The rest doesn't matter.

I thought it was very close and although I felt Cotto won more rounds, I would have to see it again and could see it differently. I'm still not 100%.

It was a close fight, thats for sure, but I honestly thought Clottey should have got the nod last night.

I may need to re-watch though.

To me, Cotto was busy but wasn't really landing THAT much effectively. The majority of his punches were being blocked, and although the crowd got amped and the commentators were creaming over them, not much was getting through. The left hook to the body was his most effective scoring shot, but to be honest, Clottey's left hook, which he doubled to head and body was actually the better shot.

The cut did Cotto no favours obviously, but looking at his face, his whole damn head looked swelled up and Clottey look kinda unscathed to me. The more accurate, hurtful looking punches were all Clotteys and if anyone looked like losing by TKO, it was Cotto.

Like most people, the last 4 rounds probably sealed it for Cotto, but even then, he didnt land too much but was busier and could have stolen the rounds. Cotto looked like he knew he lost to me though, I dunno.. good fight anyway.

My logic will be clear. I think there are 8 rounds which could be clearly "allocated".

    These are:
    1, 6, 12: clear Cotto rounds
    5, 7, 8, 9, 10: clear Clottey rounds.

Rounds 2, 3, 4 and 11 IMO are very very difficult to score. Many people think round 4 goes to Cotto (although check out, Clottey punishes Cotto through the middle of the round). However, I am sure it would be very very unfair to score all of these 4 rounds in favour of Cotto.
If you give two of them to Clottey the result is: 114-113 Clottey. In rounds 2, 3 Clottey landed more shots, as far as I remember in round 11 too. Arguably he won all of them.

Summing up: Clottey's rounds were more convincing and you have to give Cotto 3 out of 4 even rounds to make him a 114-113 score. For me that's enough to say: Clottey won last night.

Well 2 of those rounds that Cotto won have a case for being 10-8 rounds. THe 1st obviously because of the KD and the 6th IMO was so lopsided it could have been a 10-8 round.

In terms of points that puts them dead even in terms of points leaving the close rounds as the decider. How you scored them makes all the difference in who you think won.

Then please remind the judges in the DLH vs Tito fight that they robbed DLH and gave it to Tito because Tito did the EXACT same thing.

i thought clottey edged cotto by a point. he had cotto backing up constantly and taking too many right hands and uppercuts. it wasn't a blow-out, but i thought clottey edged him.

In the words of Lewis "look at his face". Clotteys face looked the same as it did before the fight in the interview. Clottey landed 47 more punchs and landed at a higher percentage.

Clottey got the better of nearly every exchange.
