You'd have to think after training for the fight of his life for many weeks, there must have been a game plan. But I'm going to have to admit, I must be missing something, because the only plan Clottey seemed to have is to hide like a ****ing ***** for 12 rounds and then.... well, that was it.

or am I missing something? :huh

it was obvious that his strategy was to turtle up and wait for an open shot

As I said before the fight. As his ****ing own corner said after the fight.. And everybody speculated. He did not come to win the fight but go the 12. Whether if that was based on his fear of Pac or whether there was other outside influence. The fact of the matter is that he did not try and to anyone with eyes that watched fights at the championship level when the contender is fighting the top tier. They usually give it there all. Clottey clearly did not give it his all. All the prefight low self esteem bull**** he said "he wont beat me like he beat them" "If by chance, I win I think it would be great" you go into a fight like that you are coming to take an L.

the reason he fought the way he did was because of his fear of ending up like hatton/dlh/cotto he didnt want to be destroyed like that. The sad part was in his own little way he l ost just as bad

I thought his gameplan was to pick his spots early and let Pac wear himself out punching at his gloves......

.......Pacquiao did'nt cooperate, as he it looks like nowdays he has the capacity to take on two top fighters in one night, and mantain a workrate.

The quickness, speed, and stamina never went on a downward curve for Pacquiao, even though he was puncing a bigger fighters gloves and arms....

.....and thus, Clottey did'nt have the guts to give it a try with Pac still fully capable to let his hands fly.

Imo Clottey's early plan was a good one, but when Pac did'nt slow, you have to switch the plan and take your chances.
    Clottey did'nt do that.

at the time, I thought the plan was to give away the first two rounds, weather the storm that Pac will undoubtedly bring, and then come into the fight round 3 onwards. But it never happened.

If there was a plan to let Pac tire himself out, well, that's **** plan, because we've all seen the recent DLH and Cotto fights - Manny doesn't tire very much - he's the Duracell bunny.

    I wonder why?:think

.......in any regards, Pac was hitting DLH and Cotto cleany to the head and body.
.....you would expect the fighter getting hit to wear down.

......against Clottey, Pac was hitting mostly arms and gloves. Normally a small fighter is'nt doing damage in this situation and is wearing himself out.
That I believe was Clottey's hope and plan.....but like you said, and I'll correct you......Pac's the Energizer bunny, not Duracell bunny.

......but I know what you meant!;)

'the bunny' is Duracell everywhere except USA.

In the US, Energizer owns the rights to the bunny. Bizarre, but there you go.

The Duracell Bunny campaign was launched in 1973 and predates the Energizer Bunny, which actually began as a parody of the Duracell Bunny commercials and toys that became a collectible item. There are differences in appearance—the Energizer Bunny wears sunglasses, has larger ears, is a different shade of pink, and has a different body shape. Also, while the Energizer Bunny is a single rabbit, the Duracell Bunnies are a species. The Energizer Bunny is always depicted with a drum, because the Duracell Bunny toys had drums. The actual Duracell Bunny advertising campaign has moved beyond this, and Duracell Bunnies are usually depicted as doing something other than beating a drum.
The Duracell Bunny does not appear in North America, due to Energizer jumping the trademark claim for the marketing use of a "battery bunny" in the United States and Canada. It does, however, occasionally appear on counterfeit Duracells, usually of Chinese origin.

'Try not to get killed' seemed to be his plan. He was scared shitless to fight like that. Pacquiao was putting gloves all over him and all Clottey would do was shell up. He got raped by a midget.

    Those scoundrels at Energizer.

I've got to say I've lost a little respect for those at Energizer.
As long as its cost effective, I think I'll chose Duracell from here on out.

I dislike cheats with a passion!
