Please explain why Khan is known to have a "glass jaw"...?

the only K.O in his record is while he was weight drained against Prescott, and had an unknown (probably useless) trainer. Apart from that, why do people say how bad Khan's jaw is? What about Mayweather getting rocked by Mosley? What about Ortiz's jelly legs against Maidana and Berto? what about plenty other fighters out there who've been rocked? Khan took a powerful shot from Maidana and stayed on his feet, then came back strong the last round. To me it makes no sense to label Khan a glass jaw when he hasn't been down since the Prescott fight. How many times has Ortiz been down? Yet he's not labelled glass jawed.

I don't know if it's just genuine dislike for the guy, but it's strange that people label someone as having a glass jaw, when they've taken one of Maidana's best punches and still stayed on his feet. But also, Khan was taking shots from Peterson who was using banned substance, so just don't get it.

Glass might be a bit harsh, lets go with hardened clay

After the prescott K.O. and particularly after beginning work with Alex Ariza, they put a lot of emphasis on strenghtening Khan's legs and neck muscles. If you look at pictures of him back then and now, there's a noticable difference. I believe that played a large part in his obviously increased punch resistance. His chin is still a little shaky at times, but much improved.

It's not that he got KO'd, its that he got KTFO in the 1st round against an average fighter. This led to the calls of khan having a glass jaw

Every fight he has had since then has proved this theory false as he has taken big shots from good fighters, but you know old habits and all that

Prescott hits Khan and sends him to the glass jaw rankings.

Prescott hits Alvarado and he was labeled iron chinned after.

    Can Prescott hit or not?

Khan got knocked down a couple of times early in his career, then got blasted by Prescott, who has done little else of note. That earned him the reputation.

Now that he will constantly push or hold whenever a fighter gets close to him, the perception is that he is afraid to get his chin tested.

His has a reutation for being rocked by light hitters and guys from lower weight classes like Willy Limond and Michael Gomez.

It's not like people just made it up. He fought limited and oversized opponents and got hurt.

The first puncher and first person similar in size he fought destroyed him in one round.

These things happened and are the reson people call Khan chinny.

Willie Limond is a local fighter to me and has excellent boxing skills on a domestic level, but he's notorious for being a light puncher.
And he had Khan absolutely stiffened.

Yet Maidana smashed him all over, same goes for Peterson. Did Khan do down? People on this forum are so full of ****.

His punch resistance seems better now at the higher weight.

His chin is underrated and his skills are overrated.
