floyd does have quite a number of advantages on his side, i'd say a good 8 out of 10, but lets not forget jmm isn't too far behind. momentum, like someone else had mentioned, especially fighters like jmm, manny, and paul williams, those 3 guys in particular are on fire! their basically proving they'll take on all comers regardless of the weight and not only challenging but winning and winning big. i expect a highly competitive fight and much closer than many would expect. yes, jmm has a great chance, but no doubt floyd has to be the fav to win

How does one jumping up division automatically bulk?

Marquez does not have to add any extra weight.

He already weighs 141-144 on fight night. Pounds difference from Mayweather.

Mayweather jumped to 147 and he didnt add any extra weight.

Marquez has a chance. It's not a good one but a chance. Floyd is likely to have at least some rust, and ultimately Floyd isn't a huge puncher or a big Welter. Plus, though Marquez has been put down by smaller fighters, his recuperative ability is excellent so Floyd could probably drop him, but Floyd's also a defensive fighter first, not a destroyer type of guy, so it's not likely that he's going to be chasing after Marquez unless he hurts him very obviously at some point. He might play things too defensively with his rust, and Marquez could possibly outhustle him to a decision win. Marquez is overall the most skilled fighter Floyd has ever faced(and vice versa) so that might factor in his favor as well.

That said, Floyd's still naturally bigger, faster, more athletic, and on par skills-wise(defensively he's far better, offensively Marquez has the edge) and we don't know if Marquez will even have respectable power at 145.

Yes. If PBF is really rusty or doesn't have it anymore. JMM is a master technician and he is good enough to beat anyone in the world.

No offence mate, but I thought you were pretty much incapable of anything other than blind PBF nuthuggery. But I was wrong, clearly. In light of Wright v Williams, we should all acknowledge that ring-rust can affect a fighter dramatically.

If you don't think that jumping 2 weight divisions affects you, then I don't really know what to say to you. Marquez has no experience of fighting anyone big enough to fight at welterweight. It's obvious, but if you are determined to promote that Mayweather has no advantage in this fight then I doubt you will ever concede otherwise, but at least 90% of neutrals are aware of the advantage to Floyd of fighting at 145 rather than 140.

I honestly think Floyd could probably walk over JMM if he really had the desire to. Though i don't see the fight happening that way, i see it being more competitive than it needs to be, but in the end Floyd still wins very clearly. JMM has shown he gets hit a lot more at 135 and got buzzed by the light punching Juan Diaz (although he showed guts and gave us a truly awesome fight).

I don't think Marquez could beat Floyd, even a declining version. I think if Floyd finds himself actually getting outboxed at any point, Roger would have the smarts to give it to him straight and tell him to really try and walk over him. I think he will have enough power (combined with his excellent timing) to put JMM on the canvas at some point in the fight.

Not a fight Marquez can win imo.
